The UniApart building was built in 2014. New appliances, modern furnishings, and comfortable shared spaces. The apartment room (21,5 m²) is on the first floor (for North Americans, this is the second floor), in the same area as 3 shared study/hangout spaces. There is a bathroom and kitchen inside the apartment. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, oven, and refrigerator. A laundry room is in the basement, and you will have your own storage locker too. Walls and windows are well insulated, so heat stays in and noise stays out. There is also a big floor-length window that keeps the apartment naturally bright and well-lit.
Additionally, there is a gym, lounge/bar, bike storage, and parking spots available for all inhabitants. If you want a parking spot, there will be an extra cost.
Rental cost includes heating, electricity, and internet!
It's a 10 minute walk to the central bus station, and a 5 minute walk to a bus stop with buses that go to the university (bus #: 304, 326). There are grocery stores within a 5-10 minute walk and plenty of shops around, as you will be close to the city center. Meaning, you'll also be very close to restaurants, pizza and döner, bars, outdoor markets, and any event that happens in the city center. It's also a 10 minute walk to the central train station.
My lease is up at the end of September, so if you would like to stay in the apartment beyond this date, you will have to carry on the lease yourself. The management staff is very friendly and accommodating!
All the essential furnishings are available. You will need to provide your own: bed linens, towels, shower curtain, toilet brush, cutlery, and dishes. I would be willing to sell all or some of my cutlery, dishes, cooking/baking equipment, pots, pans, etc. It's all from IKEA!
If you need to speak to someone in German, send me a message and I can ask one of my German friends to help us out :)
