I feel as an original Berliner, it is safe for me to say: My flat is located in the best area of Friedrichshain with some of Berlin's main attractions at walking distance (East Side Gallery, Oberbaumbrücke) and more importantly, a vibrant cultural life! Boxhagener Kiez is the trendiest and coolest part of Friedrichshain, home to numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants as well as small shops and boutiques. It’s a perfect place to wander aimlessly around, to get the real feel of the place, and to enjoy the laid-back vibe of the area. With its mix of inhabitants and influences, from squatters and artists to young families, that’s where you can find a true Berlin atmosphere.
It will take you only 3 minutes to Boxhagener Platz ("Boxi") - go visit the food, spices & flowers market on Saturdays and the flee market on Sundays. You will also find a great variety of restaurants, bars, small movie theaters & night life around - happy to give you some tips :)

Two supermarkets (Netto & Edeka), grocery stores (Rossmann & dm) and several backeries (a really good one as well) are right around the corner. The East Side Mall and the Ring Center are two shopping malls in a 10-minute radius.
The flat is ideally connected by public transport:
3 min. walk to tube station U5 Samariterstraße, which connects to Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße, Central Station, Museum Island and the animal park.
Several buses and the good old tram are also within a 2-minute radius to reach other destinations.
