About the area
The beginning Bródy Sándor utca runs along the park surrounding the National Museum. This part of district VIII is justly called the Palace Quarter: the beautiful townhomes of 19th century aristocrats are still standing and offer a perfect scene for time-travellers ? It’s right next to the Jewish Quarter which is the hippest part of the city. Here you can explore wonderful historic buildings and the famous ruin pubs, such as Szimpla Kert.
Transportation
The location is a perfect starting point for sightseeing tours. Many of Budapest’s must-see sights are within 10 minutes walking distance: the Great Synagogue, Gozsdu Udvar and the famous ruin pubs.
Astoria station of the metro line M2 is close by. From there you can easily get to Keleti railway station. Tram 47 or 49 stop at either Astoria or Kalvin tér, should you want to get to the famous Market Hall or even across the Danube to the beautiful Gellért Thermal Bath. The 4 and 6 tram, which runs 24/7 is a short walk away.
