The fully-furnished room includes a small private kitchen with mini fridge and stovetop, bathroom with shower, toilet, and washing machine. Furniture includes bed, large wardrobe, dresser, sideboard on wheels, other shelving unit on wheels, chairs, etc.
The room functions as a small one-room apartment within a shared flat with two roommates.
Downstairs in the shared portion of the flat is a much bigger shared kitchen with an oven (for bigger cooking projects) with a balcony and living room. Both roommates are working and also have their own spaces and personal bathrooms, so the flat has a nice combination of privacy when you need space, combined with the social aspect of living with two really fun people. It is the perfect place to make friends, meet people, practice German, and get to know the stunning city centre of Heidelberg. The roommates are always eager to hang out in the evenings and on the weekends: cooking, going on bike trips, jogging together, stand up paddle boarding, and sitting around in the evenings playing Mario Cart.
One big bonus of the apartment is the balcony, with an absolutely unbeatable view of the Philosophenweg on one side and the castle on the other. It is the perfect place to watch sunsets, grill, have a beer with friends, and work from your laptop.
The apartment is on the Untere Strasse, aka the "fun" street of Heidelberg. During normal times, you have no shortage of things to do and people to meet. The room is high enough up that it isn't too noisy, and the windows are sound proof. The location is amazing for shopping, eating out, hiking, and jogging by the river. The street is full of shops, bars, and restaurants, and there is a Tegut supermarket less than 5 minute's walk away.
Wifi, utilities, and rent come out to 700 euros per month, and the landlady is very friendly and happy to provide anything else you need.
This is really the perfect place to live if you are new to the city and looking to experience Heidelberg at its best.
