Hi everyone, I'm subletting my flat for two weeks including christmas time, 250€ for the entire period. It sleeps 2 comfortably in a double bed. Also, it's ok if you want to be up to 4, the couch in the room unfolds to sleep another 2 - I'd just ask 50€ per extra person, still a good option for christmas in berlin with friends if you don't mind privacy.
The flat has a large (about 25sqm) living & bedroom, a smaller, lovely kitchen with berlin-style red wooden floor, and a tiny yet practical bathroom with shower. Each of those have a window facing south, that provides daylight from sunrise almost all the way to sunset - that won't be too long in winter I'm afraid.
The main room accomodates sleeping for 2, lounge space for 4 (couch, armchair, coffee table) and a working desk. It has a good sound installation that make listening to music and watching films a pleasure. My books are staying, they include a couple Berlin guides which you are welcome to use as long as you keep them clean. The kitchen has got a fridge, electric stove and oven. Comes with pans and the usual kitchenware.
There is 16mbps WiFi internet access.
If you've looked for info about the best places to be in Berlin at the moment, you've probably read about Neukölln. The district has only recently been favored by artists from around the world and is already this that counts the most art galleries, a vibrant mixture of trashy-chic bars, organic bakeries and turkish corner shops. All of it in walking distance to the lovely canal and former airport Tempelhof, now Berlin's largest park. Also 1minute walk away is the heart of Böhmisches Rixdorf, one of the better-preserved 18th century districts in Berlin - it almost feels like a village, a strange impression in the heart of Berlin. I heard it's where is one of the most authentic Christmas Market in Berlin.
Right out the door are a few bars where you'll easily want to keep hanging out. One offers donation-based dinner every Wednesday (a very popular attraction in Berlin known as Vokü). Another allows you to play pool for 3€ an hour. A few more have sunday all-you-can-eat brunches for 7€, and the best german food I've had so far in Berlin.
Transports from here are pretty awesome to both airports and most places around town - the ringbahn is a great way to quickly go everywhere.
It's also very pleasant to cycle to all parts of Neukölln, Kreuzberg, Tempelhof and Frederichshain. Bike rentals are nearby.
I consider I can trust people and never had a problem so far with that, don't be the first.. I'm looking for reliable and respectful people, who'll behave towards my neighbours and take good care of both furniture and plants while I'm away. Feel free to use whatever I have left around - books, spices as long as you refill whatever you empty. I always ask for a 200€ deposit which you'll integrally get back as long as the flat is neat and in good shape. I don't want to move back in a dirty flat, so if you somehow forgot to clean the floor, toilets sink or sheets I'll simply keep 50€ off that - but I'd rather not have to.
That's it, feel free to get in touch if interested, or if you've got questions.
Best,
Régis
