The apartment is perfect to host between one and two people since it offers a double bed. The flat is equipped with a kitchenette which has all the utensils for cooking that you need. The apartment is located in charming Wedding, Gesundbrunnen area. There are many public transportation stations nearby which makes the place a perfect starting point for exploring Berlin.
Good stuff to do in the direct neighborhood:
- Shopping Mall: Gesundbrunnencenter, Badstrasse
- Indoor climbing: Magic Mountain, Boettgerstrasse 20
- Berliner "Unterwelten": guided visits through Berlin's Undergrounds > a tour through a bunker from WWII
- Bars/Cafes: directly in Gruentaler Str.: FBar, Studio Acht,Kugelbahn (Bar+Bowling), nearby: Glueckliches Wedding (Juelicher Str./Eulerstrasse), Tassenkuchen (take Tram M13 until station Osramhoefe) > Cupcakes, All you can eat Pancake Breakfast on Sunday)
- Swimming in a Lake: only 10 min away Ploetzensee, take Tram lines M13 or M50, get off Virchow-Klinikum
Legendary district Prenzlauer Berg with its cafes, restaurants, art galleries and alternative shops is only 5 min away from your place. On Sundays, you will be able to walk to the Mauerpark and visit Berlin's most famous Flea market (+ Karaoke Show, starting 3 pm). Within just 10 min the subway line U8 takes you to Alexanderplatz which is the city center east of Berlin, where the famous TV Tower is situated. Only 5 min more in the same subway line and you are in alternative and diverse Kreuzberg/Neukoelln area to visit the beautiful oriental market on Maybachufer (U8, get off Schoenleinstrasse, Tuesdays+Fridays > food market from 11-6 pm, Saturdays > art, fabrics and handcrafts from 11-5pm) or to discover the area's never ending nightlife.
Within a 10-20 min range with public transportation you are able to visit Checkpoint Charlie (near Friedrichstrasse station, U6 Kochstrasse), the new Government district, the Brandenburg Gate (free walking tours daily 11+1pm, meeting point across Starbuck/Pariser Platz) and Potsdamer Platz. Subway line U9 takes you to Zoologischer Garten, near Berlin's beautiful Zoo. In this area which is the city center west, you will find famous boutiques along Kurfuerstendamm, or regular shops on Tauentzienstrasse. Make sure you don't forget to walk to Europe's biggest luxury Shopping Mall called KaDeWe, located on Tauentzienstrasse/Wittenbergplatz. Also the famous landmark, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (famous for its missing top, destroyed in WWII), can be seen and visited here.
