Rödelheim is a pleasant district in the north-west of Frankfurt, not far from the city center between the Nidda and Westerbach rivers. Rödelheim is divided into two districts: Rödelheim-Ost and Rödelheim-West.
Rödelheim was once one of the most important and largest industrial locations in Frankfurt, but today the district is changing. The German air traffic control, the planned IT center and high-tech companies of all kinds, especially in the Eschborner Landstrasse, stand for this upheaval.
But Rödelheim also has a tranquil and traditional side: With one of the largest cider presses in the Rhine-Main area, it is the secret cider capital of the region. How fitting: once a year Rödelheim also turns into one of the major carnival strongholds.
Nature is not neglected in Rödelheim either: The former Brentano Park from the 19th century with many small Greek bathing temples, pomegranate and orange trees and the Petri House as an artists' meeting place is no longer preserved to this extent, but it still is Park a nice destination in the countryside. The Brentanobad at the northern end of the park is one of the most beautiful outdoor pools in all of Hesse with lots of sunbathing areas, barbecue areas and an open-air cinema. The 5 hectare Solmspark in the classic landscape style also impresses with its old trees.
Rödelheim has a good infrastructure: there are shopping opportunities in the shopping and business center between Lorscher Straße and Rödelheim train station, schools, sports and gaming facilities are available.
