This is a LEGAL sublet. You will be asked to sign a third-party contract with management, which secures your living arrangement. You will not have to deal with illegal evictions or losing out on your rent deposit. Your space is completely secure.
You will reside at a student dormitory, where you share a floor with 12 other individuals. There are 4 bathrooms (3 with showers and 1 without) and 1 kitchen with 6 refrigerators, and you will share a fridge with (1) other individual.
There is a laundry room in the facility The cost to wash your clothes is 2 euros and the dryers are 1 euro .20. There is also a dry room on the floor. You could use a dry board I will be leaving to hang your clothes in the dry room if you do not want to pay for the dryer.
There is a gym in the building, one the ground floor, where you will have access to. You will not have the key to this room, but there is always someone working out inside. All you have to do is knock and they will let you in. The gym has undergone refurbishment replaced with new machines. Take advantage of this feature!
There are Kayaks out back you could rent for the day for 5 euros.

The dormitory is in Winterhude area of Hamburg, very close to 'Stadtpark' The stop is called 'Borgweg', on the U-Bahn. You can take the U3 (Yellow line). The line itself will be in the direction of 'Barmbek'
The dormitory is a 4 minute walk from the train station.
- Approximately 15 minute ride to University of Hamburg.
- Approximately 20 minute to Jungfernsteig and the Main Station.
- Approximately 30 minute ride to Altona
This location is convenient for all travels around the A and B rings of Hamburg. You will not spend more than an hour commute in any part of the city from this location.
There is also a supermarket (LIDL) located right out front of the entire complex.
The communal living arrangement is quite nice. The people on the floor are very sweet, helpful and genuine. We like to get together on occasion to watch movies or go out to parties or events. We also acknowledge that we are all students and/or workers who have busy schedules. With this being said, we are respectful of others spaces and privacy, and we are aware of the quiet hours of the floor.
We have a system in which every week someone is scheduled to take out the trash for that week and it works really nicely. You would probably only have to do this one time and usually the trash/recycling only needs to be taken out twice in every week.
You will not have to worry about dish washing liquid or toilet paper. We are provided with these amenities. But you do have to wash your own dishes. The people who clean the floor work during business days and are only responsible for sweeping/mopping/vacuuming and cleaning kitchen counters. Everything else is up to the ones who reside here. And we all agree to performing the same tasks of cleaning up after ourselves.
There is also a bar within the complex called PSH Bar. On occasion, they have private parties, but usually they have a monthly themed party for all tenants who wish to take part in the community. I've been to a couple in the past and they are quite fun. So, go out and meet others residing in the city of Hamburg!
