Mature Canadian woman searching for apartment

Hello!

I am a 25 year old Canadian woman who has just moved to Köln. I am here on a work visa for a year, before returning to Canada for Law School in 2020. I have a BSc in Animal Biology and will be returning to university to specialize in Environmental Law. Unfortunately I do not currently speak German (I am in the process of learning!), but my family is originally from Germany (Heidelberg).

I am a very quiet, respectful, educated, and hard-working tenant. I am searching for a one bedroom apartment as I prefer to have my own private space (particularly while I work or study). I am hoping to move in to a new apartment by the end of August (or September 1st at the latest). I do not mind how quiet or loud the neighborhood is, but would prefer a location that is close to transit and has a main street with shops/restaurants close by. I will spend my days working and my evenings studying German, cooking, and exploring the neighbourhood. I do not enjoy parties, so I will not disturb my neighbours. I understand that some people are nervous about renting their home to a foreigner, but I can assure you that I am an excellent tenant who respects my living quarters and always pays rent on time. The tenancy laws in Canada are very strict, so I had to become an excellent tenant in order to stand out from my competitors. :)
