Die Verkehrsanbindung ist gut:
2min Fußweg bis zur Haltestelle Universitätsbibliothek von der die Straßenbahnlinie 2 alle 10 Minuten abfährt bzw. abends alle 20 Minuten.
9min Fußweg bis zur Haltestelle Universität von der die Straßenbahnlinien 1, 9, 10 abfahren, somit fährt alle paar Minuten eine Straßenbahn in die Innenstadt (und zurück).
Alle die oben genannten Linien fahren zum Alten Markt (ca. 5min Fahrt) und somit in die Innenstadt, die Linie 9 und 10 zum Hasselbachplatz (ca.10min Fahrt) und die 1 zum Magdeburger Hauptbahnhof (ca. 10min).
Nachts fahren auch noch Nachtlinien zur Universität.
Falls man in eine andere Stadt möchte fährt eine Regionalbahn stündlich von Magdeburg HBF nach Berlin (ca. 1,5h Fahrt) oder eine Regionalbahn nach Leipzig (ca. 1h Fahrt).
In der Nähe befinden sich auch ein ALDI, ein LIDL (ca.13min Fußweg), ein Edeka (ca. 5min mit Linie 2) und ein großer Kaufland (ca. 5min mit Linie 1/9/10).
Wer laufen oder spazieren möchte erreicht den Herrenkrugpark in ca.19min zu Fuß oder in ca.10min mit der Straßenbahn.

The public transit situation is great :
You need 2min on foot till the tram stop "Universitätsbibliothek" from which tram 2 departs every 10 minutes (or every 20 minutes in the evening)
You need 9min on foot till the tram stop "Universität" from which trams 1, 9, 10 depart, which means every few minutes a tram can take you to the inner city (or back).
All of the mentioned trams drive to "Alter Markt" (ca. 5min ride) which is the city center, Tram 9 and 10 drive to "Hasselbachplatz" (10mins) and Tram 1 can take you to Magdeburg Cenral Station (10mins).
There are also trams available late at night.
From Magdeburg Central Station every hour a train departs to Berlin (1,5h ride) and there is also a train to Leipzig (1h ride) available.
Close to the Apartment there is an ALDI, aLIDL (13min on foot), a Edeka (5min with tram 2) and a huge Kaufland (5min with tram 1/9/10).
If you want to go for a run or a walk, Herrenkrugpark can be reached in 19min on foot or in 10min with the tram.
