The room I am renting is one of 4 sleeping rooms in the flat. Its not too big but you have all you need. In addition to that there is a big living-room with a TV for watching movies, 2 bathrooms (1 with shower and tub), a well-equipped kitchen and a big balcony with access to the roof.
The flat is in the 5th floor and there is no elevator so maybe you wanna consider that ?
If you haven't heard of the district Schöneberg before, you're not worse then me before I moved there. It's really central though not yet as hip and trendy as Neukölln or Kreuzberg; but Im convinced it has the potential for that.
You have the typical Berlin mix of really nice old buildings on the one hand and then a lot of new buildings with foreign influences regarding the restaurants. As in every quarter there are some nice and some less nice places, I would call mine one of the nicer ones. The street where my place is located is pretty calm between the rest of the urban jungle and you have some older buildings.
Walking for about 5 minutes in each direction you will get to the main streets with connection to the public transport and a lot of (fast)food-places like Döner Kebap.
In general all the necessary facilities are in walking distance, there is a supermarket just about 2 minutes from the door where you also reach the public transport. The nice park and recreation area Volkspark Wilmersdorf is also not far and invites you for nice walks or some exercise.
If you wanna explore the quarter by yourself I advise you just to walk between the bigger streets and you will love it.
Public Transport
I cannot stress it often enough (living in my 3rd flat in Berlin now, I have never experienced such a good location to get everywhere in a reasonable time). Here is an overview of available stations and transport going there:
S & U Innsbrucker Platz (2 minutes walking distance)
--> S41/42 - also called the Ringbahn because it goes around whole Berlin in a circle within one hour so really good to reach farther places
--> U4 - Berlins shortest subway line with just 4 stations takes you closer to the city centre to Nollendorfplatz and is good if you wanna go to "Zoologischer Garten" or "Kurfürstendamm"
--> multiple bus lines - there are a lot of bus lines going here and Im not quite sure where to. All I know is that there is a direct connection between here and Berlin main station which can be helpful if you arrive by train. In general I would advise you to download a public transport app for your phone when you're here to make sure which is the fastest way to go since there is normally more than 1 option.
S Schöneberg (5 minutes walking distance)
--> S1 - takes you directly to the city centre where you have all the places to see as a tourist (Potsdamer Platz 8 mins, Brandenburger Tor 10 mins, Friedrichstraße 12 mins)
--> S41/42 - another station of the Ringbahn
If you arrive by car, you won't have the troubles of annoying traffic jams that you normally have driving through the city because the flat is pretty close to the Autobahn/ highway going around Berlin. Parking in the streets is for free so don't worry about high parking costs.
My flat is normally a shared flat with 4 persons living there. So from time to time when some of us are not there single rooms might be for rent. All of us are between 25 and 29 and openminded.
For the rental we dont have any specific conditions so just write me :)
Please leave a photo or social media link of yourself if you’re interested so we get a first impression of who we might move together with :)
