Hi there!
[We’re writing this ad in English so to include non-German speakers; we are more than happy to speak both German and English]
We are Mai and Herrmann (a couple, Vietnamese and German) and occupy one of the rooms in our two-room WG. Our current flatmate is moving out by the end of June so his room is free to be taken over from July.
The room is about 22 m² big and has a balcony. Our place lies on the 3rd floor. Though there is an elevator if you are lazy walking.
Furniture: The photos still show some furniture that belong to our current flatmate. The white wardrobe, the TV and of course his personal belongings (like all the stuff on the desk) will be gone. The bed you can see will also be gone but replaced with another one (140x200m in size). You can, if you have, of course bring your own furniture. Otherwise, this is what we can provide: couch (unfolds for extra sleeping), couch table (currently under the TV – see photo), armchair (IKEA-style), desk, desk chair, stand-alone shelves. We can also give you a clothes rail if you’d like. Feel free to re-arrange at your will.
Temporariness: Thus far, the end date is quite flexible. More on that once we’ll get to know each other. Just call us to ask about it. It also means that if you have a different plan than what the date above says, then please tell us.
We live pretty central in the heart of Friedrichshain. S- and U-Bahn station “Warschauer Straße” is 5 min walking away. If living centre-gated is important to you, then our place is just right. Trains, trams and a bus leave in all directions from there. It’s only 3 train stops or 8 min to Alexanderplatz to where you can also ride within 15-20 min on bike (or perhaps even walk for 40 min?).
For those in the know: We live on the Berghain side, not Simon-Dach side of Warschauer Straße. Therefore it is relaxed over here but still very close to all the buzzing nightlife over there. We have a little park just outside our house ("Gleisbeet") which includes a neighborhood garden and where we love to hang out.
We have an Aldi discounter within 3 min walking, the famous late-closing Rewe on Warschauer Str./Revaler Straße is 5 min away. Fast food eateries, cafés, restaurants, bars and clubs are well within walking distance.
Once you’ll enter the flat you’ll see that is has gathered quite a history since Herrmann moved in some 12 years ago as a student. The flat still breathes the air of that student flat. You can partly see this in individual decorations on the walls.
So far, we have always lived with our flat mates as much more than just “flat mates for economic purposes”. We are looking for somebody with whome we can have conversations every day in the kitchen, maybe even go out for a beer once in a while. For example, we like sharing our interests for cooking and beer. Mai in particular loves cooking (and sometimes baking). We basically cook every day. We like having breakfast, lunch and dinner together our flatmate, if this work out of course. Since we will often invite you to join us for meals, it would be just as nice to be invited every now and then as well.
We like to keep the place clean. We do not have an institutionalized cleaning schedule, but we clean corridor, bathroom and kitchen about once a week. Surely, we’ll find a way of sharing that work.
Important: Please do not Email me or message through this website. Please call me right away. Should you not be in Berlin or Germany at this point, we can of course get to know each other through video call. In that case message me first via Whatsapp, Viber or Signal: ----/------- (Herrmann)
Cheers, Herrmann and Mai
