Hey out there!
I am renting a room in Bergmannkiez.
The room got 21 m*2 with a window facing the patio to the south so the room got sunlight during daytime.
The whole flat got around 86m*2, a kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub, a living room with access to the balcony and my room which got also access to the balcony.
The flat is situated in Bergmannkiez, which is part of Kreuzberg.
The next subway station is Gneisenaustraße, which is 3 walking minutes away and where you can hop on the U7.
The area is in between Tempelhofer Feld and Landwehrkanal, which is within few minutes walking distance.
The area is layed back, rather international but a bit more calm as e.g. Neukölln. There is a food market hall (Marheinekehalle) five walking minutes away and there are enough supermarkets around (Alnatura and Edeka in the same road).
Neukölln (Hermannplatz) is two subway stops away, should you get bored of the bars and restaurants around this area.
Also the connection to the train stations is pretty good and you can reach Südkreuz and the central station by public transport within 20 minutes.
"We" - that is me, Chris (35) and Milosch (4), my son, who lives here with me half of the week, so you should feel comfortable being around a kid. That is quite an important point for me as in the past I had some lovely roommates but they couldn't really connect to Milosch as they had now experience being around a kid. And I totally get that If you weren't in such a living situation before. But if living with a kid is just something you are ok with but you don't know if you are able to interact with a kid or treat him like another roommate it won't work out. So please consider this first as in case, it will spare both of us some trouble and time as I am looking for a person who really wants to live here and makes this place a home.
For the sake of Milosch I would also prefer a person who is able to communicate in german as otherwise it will be a bit more complicated to build a connection with him.
For myself I would say that I am a very social and open person, but living with a little kid is not as free-and-easy as it used to be before and sometimes I am also just exhausted and enjoy some time for myself. So half the time I am up for anything and the other half I try to be a responsible father figure... A bit like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. ;)
I am a lot into cinema, enjoy going to concerts and also appreciate a long night out at a barcounter or going to a club. Even if I regret that sometimes on the next morning...
As the flat got three rooms but only a small kitchen, one of the spacious rooms is our living room. It looks different now than on the picture (room 2). So far I always payed a higher share of the rent as I was making more use of the living room because I won't be able to make use of my own room when Milosch is here and asleep.
I do speak German, English and (unfortunately by now very bad) Spanish, but for the sake of Milosch it would be nice if you would be able to communicate on a basic level in german.
I guess, there is lot more to tell and maybe to ask as this is probably not the most common way of living together but I'd rather do that in person...
If you're in generally interested, please write some lines (english or german) about yourself and we can meet one of these days so you can have a look at the flat and we can get to know each other.
And in case you are in a similiar living situation and got a kid as well I would be happy to meet up with you and see if that could work out for the both of us and the kids.
The moving in date is flexible but as my former flatmate left the room already you could move in right away.
