PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ROOM IS ONLY AVAILABLE FROM JANUARY 1st 2023 to MARCH 15th 2024 !!!
The room is 24m² big and part of a 70m² apartment that, though situated in an authentic Berlin Altbau, was completely renovated in 2016. The room comes fully furnished with a comfortable bed (with a 1,6x2m cold foam mattress), a big couch, an elevating desk with two screens, and an external wardrobe. The lighting is warm and cozy. Since it's a ground floor apartment with the windows facing east it only gets sun in the mornings; for sun in the afternoons you'd have to go to the kitchen/backyard or the nearby Landwehrkanal or - 1.5 blocks away - the Görlitzer Park.
If people walking by your window bothers you - this is not your place. However, Lignitzer Straße is very quiet and there are hardly any cars and/or pedestrians. The new triple-glazed windows keep out all the noise, and the curtains and the electric blinds make it - if you wish so - impossible to be seen from the outside.
Also, since this is a solid X-Berg household, we are queer- and transfriendly!
The apartment is very close to the Landwehrkanal, the Görlitzer Park and the Bouleplatz. The neighborhood is central yet very quiet and residential. There are a lot of bars and restaurants in proximity on Reichenberger Straße (one block away) and in the Reuterkiez on the other side of the canal. On the street itself there is basically no thru traffic, and there are several different supermarkets within close walking distance. Closest U-Bahn stations are Schönleinstraße (U8) 8min by foot, Görlitzer Bahnhof (U1/U3) 10min, Hermannplatz (U7) 10min, and 2min to the M29 metrobus.
I'm a 40 year old German as a foreign language teacher who works mostly at the Goethe-Institut in Berlin-Mitte. I also write essays and do translations from English and French to German. Since I will be away for 2.5 months, you'd stay with my 30 year old Argentinian roommate. She is a psychologist and a really nice person.
We like to enjoy Berlin's nightlife from time to time, but usually we dont bring the party home.
Please send me a few words about yourself, who you are, what you do, and what kind of roommate you are.
Just to make sure that we are on the same page: THE ROOM IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR 2.5 MONTHS: FROM JANUARY 1st 2023 to MARCH 15th 2023 !!!
No problem, if you need a bit of flexibilty around moving in and out, I am sure we can figure somthing out.
Please note that the high additional costs are due to the massively increased prices for energy. Also, we have a cleaning lady that comes by twice a month and cleans the whole apartment. This is included there as well.
