Room

Hi there,
please make the effort to read the full ad. We get a lot of emails just asking us whether the room is still available. Please tell us more about yourself, we can't waste our time with people who are not interested in us but only in getting a room. Thanks.

We are a little family with a 15 month old baby and two dogs looking for a new flatmate for our apartment. There is also Paloma, our 32-year-old flatmate from Chile who has been living with us for almost three years now. I guess it is quite a unique living arrangement and that's why we are looking for someone who actually wants to live with a family despite some downsides like: the dogs barking sometimes, the baby crying and throwing stuff around sometimes etc. But there are also many advantages we think, for example: the dogs love to cuddle and the baby is really cute and it's amazing to see him learning and experiencing the worls around him.
Facts about us:
- I am 43, an English and Spanish teacher and have been living in Berlin for 14 years
- my boyfriend has moved in with us because we had a baby 15 months ago
- I consider myself to be open-minded, internationally-interested (if that word even exists:-)), social and out-going
- I am interested in languages, dancing, politics, literature, hiking, being outside, spending time with friends and much more:-)
- we are looking for somebody who likes to share time with their flatmates but who is also independent and working at least part time if not full time like me
- we want to live together with a person who considers communication a virtue and who can tallk about their wishes and problems openly (especially when it has got to living together)
- we are picky when it comes to cleaning the house so you should want the house to be very clean, too:-)
- it actually turned out to be a better idea to have a cleaning person coming in every 10 days so that would make 20 Euro extra per month, depending on how much we clean
- we are also environmentally conscious and try to not spend too much hot water, electricity and heating
- you should also be conscientious when it comes to the environment, for example no shower sessions of 10 minutes :-)
- We have got two dogs, Canim and Faya, who are very sweet
- we don't smoke and we are looking for someone who also doesn't smoke
- since we have a baby now we are looking for a calm and respectful person who doesn't bring people back to the apartment too often
- of course if you want to have dinner with a friend it's okay to have someone over, but we would want you to mostly meet your friends outside in cafés or bars
- my flatmate and I sometimes have our friends over to cook or to have a glass of wine but if we want to meet a bigger group we meet our friends in a bar or club; and if you bring new people home, please inform me beforehand because of the dogs
- if you want to have a lot of friends over all the time (which I can understand bc I wanted exactly that when I was younger) then this is not your place (I need to be so explicit about it bc I don't want to create false expectations)
- however, if you can live with meeting your friends in a bar or their places and only bring people here occasionally, then that's fine with us

Facts about the apartment/your room:
- your room is 11 square meters
- the kitchen is 22 square meters
- there is a dishwasher, a washing machine, a bathroom with a shower and a second bathroom with a seperate toilet
- the apartment is quite new
- the house is from 1906 so it's Altbau and very pretty
- the apartment is on the first floor
- the rent for your room is 420 Euro and there is a bed (140x200com) with a mattress, a white IKEA shelve (can be used as a wardrobe) and a nightstand with a lamp and sand colored curtains
- there is another flatmate, Paloma from Chile, she is 31 and a very open and respectful person. she moved in on the 1st April 2021
- move in date is flexible; it can be 1 January or 15 January or later
- the Ringbahn is just 4 minutes away on foot

So are you interested? :-) then write me an e-mail:

Please address the email to Mucki, so I know that you actually read the add. Thanks:-)

Since we always get a lot of requests, don't be sad if we can't get back to every single one of you personally. If we haven't written back in 3-4 days, then the room has already been taken or we are looking for someone else.
