Just move in and live. Enjoy the opportunities that Berlin has or concentrate on your studies / work instead of furnishing and renovating your flat.
The flat is located in Berlin-Neukölln. Neukölln is the most wanted living area for young people, students, internationals etc. at the moment. The flat is just around the corner from Weserstraße where you will find lots of bars with live music but also electronical. You will find little underground clubs with amazing club nights but also nice cafés to sit down and chat or read as well as international restaurants with cheap but delicious food. If you prefer a peaceful walk at the water itis 50m away from the flat. Cultural attractions such as Heimathafen Neukoelln (a nice theatre) you will reach within a walking distance. Also the attractions of Kreuzberg are just a hop away and easily reachable.
The public transport is pretty good as you can choose between the U7 Rathaus Neukölln (9 mins walk) or the bus stops Wildenbruchplatz or Fuldastr. (3 mins away). M41 for example brings you directly to Potsdamer Platz or Herrmannplatz. 171 to Schönefeld Airport.
The former tenants who lived there happily for years will move out end of July. Therefore the two rooms of the WG will become available at the same time. You will have a chance to meet your future flatmate before.
