Hi there :) We are David and Sophija, nice meeting you here!
Your new room is around 14 m2, quiet and sunny with a big window facing the backyard. The flat itself is located on the ground floor - meaning you don't have to worry about carrying heavy stuff to your place! In the kitchen there are two fridges, a dishwasher, an oven and a toaster, along with a direct access to the backyard. If you have a bike, you could find a place in the yard to park it. We can use the backyard for grilling on a hot summer day as well. The bathroom is equipped with a washing machine and a shower. Furthermore, there is also a small storage room, where we could hang our laundry in winter.
As for the furniture, most of them will be going with Kathi, who is moving out. The room will be rented out unfurnished in principle, but we could also discuss if you would like something to stay in the room.
The location of the apartment is very central and can reach most of the city in 30 min with public transport. We are 3 min away from Ubahn station Nauener Platz with U9 and 6 min away from the tram stations.
There are plenty of supermarkets within walking distance. If you feel like having a döner, there're many options nearby. But that's of course not the only place to find nice food, as we have many restaurants of different cultures surrounding us at Wedding.
If you craving some nature, there is for example Schillerpark and a cute little river Panke.
We're an international, relaxed and friendly WG. You're going to share the flat with David, who is finishing his Bachelor and starting at a startup, and Sophija, who is working in an international NGO for development. Sophija is our expert in eastern European politics, and had recently become an owner of a cute little drum. Also, you should know that she is vegan, so hope that is not a problem for you ; ). When you say "one in every five is Chinese", David is the one playing that role in the house. He likes jazzy and indie music, and is your standard techie. We both like to get to learn about different cultures, be it languages, food or people (...but to be honest mostly food) We sometimes enjoy our evenings together cooking, drinking wine while watching Rupaul.
The rent is 385 including water and heating. There are additional costs for electricity and internet which sum to 38.6 euro at the moment.
You will sign the contract with a rental agency, which is likely to be limited to 2 years but should be easily extended. And since the contract involves only you, separated from the flatmates, it is very easy to cancel as well. With the contract, you are able to receive the Meldebescheinigung.
