I am subletting my room in a two bedroom apartment in Wilmersdorf, just within the inner ring of Berlin. It is a fully furnished two bedroom apartment with one bathroom shared. It includes a gas stove kitchen and a washing machine in the pantry. The current roommate is a male masters student fluent in English, Spanish, and German. Both of us are classical pianists and rent pianos in our rooms directly from the landlady, who is also fluent in Japanese. The total rent is €980 a month - €560 kaltmiete, €285 utilities/nebenkosten (heat and electricity), and €135 for piano rental. As with all other apartments in Berlin, the utilities fee is an estimate collected monthly but the utilities companies calculate the actual total once a year, so you would be issued either a bill or a refund according to how much heat and electricity is actually used. The piano is a Bechstein grand, and luckily I have not received any complaints from neighbors for practicing between the hours of 10-9. Of course I am open to subletting to non-musicians, but I mention this because these particular conditions may be useful for musicians.
The room I am subletting actually has two rooms - one outer room with the piano, and one inner bedroom, about 40 square meters total. The apartment itself is 94 square meters. I am leaving the apartment for one year minimum, and would like to sublet it to someone for the long term, but am flexible on the end date. There is also the possibility of extending the lease beyond the original agreement, but that is a conversation we would have a little bit further on.
