10 sqm room + common space (large kitchen, big garden)

5 minutes walking distance to S-Bahn Berlin-Mahlsdorf (Berlin AB). A fairly quiet area yet easy to reach by public transport, there are 2 supermarkets and restaurants within 5 few minutes walk, however, we mainly get our groceries from a regional bio box which we share on a weekly basis.

We are Elena, Blacky and Finn and have been living together for around 3 months now. We are often very busy, yet it is important for us to spent time together regularly. Furthermore, we occasionally cook together or for each other, share the occasional film night, board game or political/philosophical discussion. But of course every one of us has also their privacy that we respect.
Finn (26) is studying photojournalism and works as a freelance journalist. Lately he has been mainly busy with the production of short documentary movies. Therefore, he is often on the road, either researching or working in the editing room. In his spare time, you will usually find him reading a book, playing table tennis or watching an old film. He has recently started teaching himself bookbinding. So far, Finn is not very good at it - but it doesn’t really matter.
Elena (55) is a historian with a keen interest in disability studies/mad history, pursuing these interests in the evenings /on weekends along a job in memorial culture. She loves movies, books and cycling/hiking.
Blacky is a friendly (and incredibly smart) dog that loves to play fetch and go for walks. He has a certain aversion against firecrackers, but he makes up for that by being a very good flatmate.
The house comes with a beautiful and large garden. This can be a lot of fun, especially during spring/summer; we grew our own vegetables, there is a table tennis table, etc. Enjoying the garden entails looking after it - you should be aware that this also takes time (in summer, this may imply about 4 or even more hrs per week per person), and ideally you would enjoy "garden work“.
We try to either avoid meat and milk products or to make sure they come from regional organic farming, furthermore, trying to reduce the use of plastic/packaging and economizing on resources are aspects of our shared household, too.
In the past, this was a mainly English-speaking, international WG, and we are curious for any new setting that will work out.

This is an old house which was renovated keeping features like old wooden windows and doors. Maintenance requires a certain degree of care, e.g. letting the air circulate on a regular basis. The drastic rise in costs for heating (our heating and warm water are based on gas) makes it necessary to economize. Costs will be handled in a transparent way, and fair ways of sharing them discussed together. Registration/Anmeldung is possible.

The deposit is not high, but we expect you to have a valid liability insurance („Haftpflicht“).
