Hey, since I'm going to Turkey for a month for the data collection of my master thesis, I'm looking for someone who wants to rent my room from end of March till end of April (dates flexible). My room is right benath the roof has a bed, desk, wardrobe and everything else you need.
The rest of the flat can only be described as luxurious. We have a huge living room with a large dining table, sofa, bar and home cinema, a large kitchen with dishwasher and a bathroom with two sinks, bath and shower.
The flat is in a prime location in the very beautiful Bonn Kessenich. The area around the apartment is a bit quieter than the city centre (if that is possible at all), but for us at least it is the ideal balance when you come home after a stressful day. There are plenty of shopping facilities nearby (Rewe, Lidl, Rossmann). If you like to spend time outdoors in summer, the Venusberg nearby promises the most beautiful view over Bonn and the Rhine meadows are a fantastic place for picnics. If you feel like going to another neighbourhood, that's no problem either: trams (lines 60 and 61) and a bus are running right next door, and the regional train station "Bonn UN Campus" is only 10 minutes away.
The flat is home to Angus, Aljoscha and Carlotta. Angus is studying at the United Nations University in the same year as Aljoscha and are currently working on their Master's thesis. Carlotta is 24 and has just started her masters in (physical) Geography.
Angus is 27 and originally from London. After completing his undergraduate degree at Edinburgh University, he spent two years working for a development organisation in Myanmar, from which he brought back not only a lot of knowledge about rural electrification, but also mad cooking skills. He enjoys climbing, playing the piano, hanging out with his girlfriend and developing his bread baking skills.
Carlotte is 24 years old and her home town is Berlin. In her free time she likes to play tennis, does yoga from time to time and enjoys being outdoors, whether it's in the park with a book or on a short hike is decided rather spontaneously. Also she likes to spend time with her byofriend, who visits from time to time (because he lives in Aachen).
We have a pretty lively flat life. We cook regularly, invite friends over, have film nights and sometimes parties. So, if you like it quiet and are looking for a purpose-built flat-share, then you are probably in the wrong place. However, there are also many quiet evenings in our flat and if someone needs to get a good night's sleep because they have important things to do the next day, we always respect that.
Since Angus and many of our friends only speak a few words of German, we actually almost exclusively talk in English.
Some additional considerations:
Make sure you include the word „Eichhörnchen“ early in your application to show us that you have read the full posting.
Every room in this flat is different and has advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless we all pay the same amount of rent and all have our individual contract. This is non-negotiable.
It should also go without saying that you have to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and are taking health risks seriously.
Last but not least: Conservatives, nazis, conspiracy theorists, climate change deniers, incels and chauvinists fuck off!
