We are offering a cozy room in a historical building (Altbau) with a lot of character and fantastic sunsets. The apartment is on the 4th floor of a 100 Year old apartment building in the Altstadt (Old City) of Bonn. With windows in every direction, the apartment offers amazing views of the roofs of Bonn and is flooded with light throughout the day. All rooms, including the shared kitchen and bathroom are furnished.
The bedroom has a closet, mirror, light/heat/sound blocking blinds and curtains, lamps, chair, and a desk.
The Altstadt has everything you might ever need. The apartment neighbors the Frauenmuseum. Our favorite Indian, Italian, Spanish, Tibetan, German, French, and Irish restaurants are within 10 minutes walking distance. Tons of bars and restaurants can be reached within 2-5 minutes walk, and we can see two grocery stores from our windows. The tram stops Chlodwigplatz and Stadthaus can also be reached in less than 10 minutes by foot. The Cologne/Bonn Airport bus stop at Frankenbad is a short 8 minute walk, and takes you directly to the airport in 25 minutes.
This neighborhood is a favorite for students and young professionals and is a great location to go out any night of the week. However, our apartment is far enough from the bars to enjoy plenty of quiet, even on weekends.
We are a German/American married couple working in business and with international NGOs. Our quiet, well-trained, old dog will probably become your new best friend. While we are both fluent in German and English. We are looking for a flatmate who is: professional, tidy, loves dogs, a non-smoker, and vegan/vegetarian.
The WG culture here is one of mature open communication, teamwork, mutual respect, responsibility, and non-judgment. As global citizens we are looking for an individual who shares our values of honesty, empathy, and open-mindedness.
Common values and a similar idea of how to run a household are also important to us. We look forward to hearing about your past living experiences.
The two of us are well established in Bonn and work full-time. In the evenings we engage in various hobbies and are often not home to socialize, though we are happy to sit and have a chat or share a meal when possible.
In our experience, everyday life in the apartment functions best with a maximum of 3 people. It is common practice that your guests stay a maximum of up to 2 nights per visit.
*One person only. Couples need not apply. People working outside the home (not home office) are preferred. Introverts welcome :)
There is a covered bike shed in the back of the house where you can safely store a bike out of the elements.
You have some shared space in the kitchen and fridge, and a drawer in the bathroom. There is no additional storage, such as a basement, for your belongings.
