As the room is outfitted with 2 large windows, it very light throughout most of the day. As it doesn't face any major traffic areas, you can easily keep it open without getting the feeling of sitting next to a motor way. And you have a bathroom with window!
The area of Friedrichstadt is very multi-cultura. Lively streets, people of all shapes and colors and a wide arrangement of restaurants to choose from. However, the restaurants and bars are all two streets over, so you won't have any of the noise at night.
A few key notes on what's around the apartment:
- 2 very nice supermarkets right around the corner (the giant EDEKA with a fresh sushi, pasta and a real cheese empire)
- 5 minutes to central station by foot
- 5 minutes to the old city center by bike
What I'll miss most about the apartment is my room mate. Even though I was barely home due to my job not letting me, we had a very good relationship. How do they say? Very low maintenance!
As there were barely any chores to be done - a cleaning lady comes by the place once per week - it was really just the occasional bottle of wine, or two... All in all, very harmonic. Enough breathing room to relax mixed with the right amount of company. :)
You should however have somewhat of a work schedule yourself, as she is working a full time job with responsibilities and the occasional long hours, sometmies also on weekends.
And she has a cat, called Chupacabra. So you should be free of any pet allergies! Chupa is a friendly cat who likes to be around.
