The available room is small yet cozy and luminous. It boasts a rectangular shape, ensuring ample space for all essentials. The flooring, consistent with the rest of the apartment, is faux wood. Overlooking a cul-de-sac, the room promises minimal traffic noise, ensuring a serene environment. The apartment includes a shared bathroom and a separate toilet.
One of the standout features of this flat is its proximity to both the Westarkaden and the Seepark. Westarkaden is home to restaurants, a Rewe, a DM, and an Aldi. If you can't find what you need there, a Lidl is just a 10-minute walk away. If you're keen on outdoor activities, the Seepark is conveniently situated just around the corner. The Dreisam is also within easy walking distance. Tram stations, including Runzmattenweg (line 1,3) and Berliner Allee (line 4), are about 5 minutes away on foot. Moreover, the city center is a brief 15-minute bike ride away.
Your potential flatmates are Abhi, a PhD student in Biophysics from India who likes cooking, hiking, reading, and drawing, and myself, an Engineering student on the cusp of completing my master's thesis. I am from Belgium and i I speak german, french and english. My interests include hiking, gardening, playing pool, and engaging in discussions on politics and science. Generally, the flat exudes a laid-back vibe, as both Abhi and I maintain busy work schedules. If you share a similar daily routine, either due to work or studies, you'd seamlessly fit in. Our evenings and weekends often culminate in the well-equipped kitchen (featuring a dishwasher!). Emphasis on cleanliness is shared, with established cleaning schedules and joint expenses for primary household necessities. The overall ambiance is relaxed, with each resident mindful of individual schedules.
Considering Abhi primarily communicates in English, proficiency in the language would be advantageous. We'll schedule a viewing, and if it aligns with your expectations, we'll share our decision a few days after the viewing, prior to the contract signing. You would be the (first) main tenant as we renew the contract. Given that Abhi plans to leave by the end of the year and my departure is slated for next March, we'll be on the lookout for either new main tenants or subtenants. Thus, a commitment to stay for at least a year is needed (by contract). If you wish you could take one of our rooms by then. We prefer PhD Students, workers or Students in their masters that fit above criteria, so that we are all on the same chapter :)
