My room is about 10m2 and is fully furnished (bed + mattress, book shelf, wardrobe, a hanger attached to the door, a desk and a chair, and a small fridge that I use as a nightstand). It also has a big window to the front garden and the street (which is quiet so it's not noisy), that makes the room very bright during the day. Although it's small it's pretty cozy :)
In front of our house there are many bike parking lots. Our street is residential and calm, and ends at the beginning of a hiking trail. Thus, the house is close to the forest.
There is a bus stop, a drug store and a bakery shop 3mins away on foot. The Herdern Kirche square is 5mins away on foot. It is a commercial area where you can find a supermarket, other drug stores and bakery shops, a shop that sells natural products, a street market of local products, and some other shops. The Institutsviertel, the tram stop, and other supermarkets, restaurants, etc. are about 15mins away on foot. The city center is about 25mins away on foot and the path is very nice.
The 4 of us are doing a master's degree in Environmental Governance. The WG is very international: Jennifer comes from the US, Kim is from South Korea, Lina is from Colombia, and I am Italian-Brazilian. Now I am moving to Berlin for 2 months and my room will be available during this period!
We can describe our WG as chill and quiet. We respect each other's privacy, but we also help each other and have become friends.
When we're at home, we usually stay in our rooms studying. But we also like talking to each other, sometimes we share what we have cooked or brought home from our trips, sometimes we have tea together, and sometimes we invite each other to do stuff outside. But there are no formal nor regular WG activities. It's all spontaneous!
During the spring and summer our landlady lets us put a table and some chairs in the front garden, where we eat and have beer together or just enjoy the sun.
The only thing is that this is not a party-WG and that it should be kept clean (both the bedroom and the common areas)!
