Howdy folks,
my time in Göttingen is now coming to an end and therefore my room is available from August or September on: it is rather large and has an almost squared shape (approx. 4.5*5.5). This is totally sufficient for making yourself comfortable. The slant protrudes about one meter into the room but does not disturb since it is quite steep.
A small detail worth mentioning: the electricity consumption is measured and billed separately for each room in the shared flat. So you don't pay for possible doge-coin farms of your roommates ;) Everybody has a own contract for the room, too. The 255€ are "all-in" (However, the landlords raised the rent by 5€ when the last tenants moved out and this might happen again).
The neighbours next to, above or below the room are all quiet - I have never heard a peep.
The big window points to the north (which means that in summer it gets not too hot and early in the morning it is not unbearably bright ;D ). The view is quite nice, you can see half-timbered houses, a big church and the blue sky. Practically the window is positioned in a way that most of the room cannot be observed by the neighbours even when the curtains are open.
Some of the furniture in the photos can be taken over for a reasonable price or for free - but this is really purely optional and we can talk about it in person.
The apartment has a common room, which is a mixture of al iving room and a kitchen. The kitchenette is a bit narrow and has only two hotplates, but that is easy to arrange. There is an oven, two refrigerators, each with a freezer compartment, and all the usual small stuff. There are also two bathrooms (very handy in shared flats). The internet connection is good and reliable (so far: I had to restart the router once in 6 months). Wifi is available, alternatively, I put a LAN-cable into the room. If you wish, I can just leave it there for you.
The landlords live in the same house and are very friendly, helpful and relaxed.

The bus stops "Markt", "Kornmarkt" and "Groner Straße" can be reached in 1 minute. Bicycles can be left on the street or a little more protected in the backyard. As the street is part of the pedestrian zone, permanent parking in the street is not possible. However, moving in and out and making short stops has never been a problem.
In the street, there is practically also the back entrance of the Rewe in the Groner Straße. There are several supermarkets nearby, including the Rewe in Prinzenstraße that is open until midnight. Since the apartment is really central I will not list pharmacies, restaurants, bars, etc ;)
The Johannisstraße is a cosy little quarter with many small shops and a little bit of gastronomy. Practically it is not on any of the common "routes" between the big clubs and bars and thus it is very quiet here.

I didn't live here for very long (from January until now) but I felt comfortable and would stay if I had not to leave the town. I can recommend the shared flat to every person who is uncomplicated, quiet and independent. Your (potential) flatmates are no teenagers and would appreciate finding a calm and grown person. Since I was very busy with studying, science and work during my time here, I didn't have that much time for. Since I was very very busy throughout the past month, I couldn't spend that much time on common activities. But you can have a great conversation with everybody and both flatmates are in general open to common activites.
Hanna is doing her doctorate in something pretty cool, a mixture of linguistics and computer science. Duq is studying for a Master's degree in Marketing/BWL, but hasn't been in Göttingen for a while and probably won't be for a while either. I assume that his room will also be available soon. I didn't get to know him as a roommate, but I know him from a job - he is an open, reliable and friendly person. Vincent is (at least from the perspective of the student bubble) a real rarity in Göttingen as he does not study but works hard ;) He enjoyed being at the Wacken Open Air before and would travel around the world a lot more if there was no Corona.

01. September is stated as the check-in date. However, due to the current home office situation, I am quite flexible in terms of leaving earlier. If you are interested and everything fits, you can move in during August as well.
If you are interested in the room, just leave me a message here at WG-Gesucht and we will make an appointment to get to know each other and show the flat - either personally or digitally.
