We are offering a really special room in an awesome flat share located in the very center of Göttingen! The location is great and the room comes with its own private bathroom with shower. No queuing or sharing the bathroom in the morning here :)
The room is spacious and has a lot of charm. It is within a beautiful traditional “Fachwerk” style building. Every room in our flat-share comes with its own private bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower! The room has two very large windows which let in plenty of light. Please have a look at the photos. As I am moving away from Germany, I will be leaving the furniture behind, which I would be happy to sell on for a reasonable, negotiable price. This includes a very large dark table, that can be extended to 2.2m (great for board games!), a comfy double bed, an ergonomic office chair, a cupboard for clothes, shelving and a mirror in the bathroom. Everything is in great condition.
Besides the room we have a shared kitchen with all possible utensils, pots, pans, you could possible require. We also have two coffee machines and a sparkling water maker. For laundry, we share a washing machine with other people in the building. On Sundays the washing machine can get busy, but if you do laundry during the week it is almost always free.
Our apartment is very centrally located, directly at the market. You can shop for fresh food at the stalls directly in front of our house three times a week. As an added bonus, because the room looks into a different direction you will hear none of the noise from the market. For day-to-day grocery shopping there is a Kaufland conveniently located right across the street. There is a walkable terrace in our building that can be used to safely store your bike or catch some sunshine in the summer. The city center is just 5 minutes walking distance from us, making it super easy to go to pubs, restaurants etc. without having to worry about getting home. Finally, there is a bus stop across the road with busses going to the North Campus, hospital, etc.
Our flat-sharing life is sociable: We have a chill-out area with a few sofas, a projector and a screen and like doing a movie-night once in a while. We often meet up in the evenings in the kitchen, where we cook, chat about our days, gossip, have a glass of wine, and hang out. The flat life is a nice balance between socializing with others, but there is also plenty of space for quiet and privacy in your own room. There are also other flat-shares in the house and we get along very well with our nice neighbors. For instance, before Christmas last year, we organized a multi-flat-share get-together with food and drinks where we hopped between the different flats in the building.
You will be sharing the apartment with three other people:
Johannes (26) moved here in March 2022 and is in the second semester of med school. He loves spending his free time outside in nature and has a passion for fine cooking. If you’re looking for someone to go on spontaneous trips or organize a dinner party, Johannes is your guy. Other than that, you will hear him playing the violin at times.
Niki (25), came to Göttingen to study Ethnology. She is sociable and has a soft spot for classic movies and old music. Niki is also our creative spirit and enjoys drawing, painting, making her own furniture and playing the guitar.
Larissa (30) is a PhD student in Forestry Economics hailing from Brazil. She is our party queen, is funny, outgoing, and always ready to lead a dance. Together with Niki, Larissa enjoys going to Salsa courses, but also going to the gym, or whatever social occasion might be on the program.
You will find out more in person.
The room is 373 EUR per month, which includes heating, electricity, and water utility bills. We are looking for someone that could move in on 1st April 2023.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a nice, laid back, and inclusive person that is happy to live with and interact with diverse people from all over the world. Because Larissa does not speak German, being comfortable with speaking English on a day-to-day basis is a must. If our mix of people, room, and location seems like a good fit for you, we would be very happy to meet you and show you the apartment. Please get in touch :)
