Two rooms are available, one as the bedroom and one as an office space. Both rooms are included in the rent. The rooms are very spacious and come fully furnished, including with bedding items and all other necessities. There are two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a fully furnished living/dining area. There is also an outdoor patio area and a garden, where you can enjoy your meals, work, and just relax.
The house is in a very quiet and nice neighborhood. There are a lot of trees around and a forest area is right around the corner to take nice strolls. The Schillerwiesen park is a 10-minute walk away. The area is in a slightly hilly area.
There is a bus stop right in front of the house from where you can take the 80 bus. The bus stop for the 50 bus is a 5-min walk away. Both would get you to the university in around 10 minutes. If you bike, the university (central campus) is 5 minutes away. The north campus would take around 10 minutes. There are two bakeries close by and a Frischmarket store 10 minutes away. Alternatively, you can take the buses to get to the grocery stores in the Innenstadt.
You would be living with 3 other people. Tejashwini, from India, recently moved in and is doing her PhD in neuroscience. Ilia, from Russia, has been here the longest and is doing his Master's in computer science. A third new person would be moving into the house in October. While everyone is busy with their schedules, flat dinners are common, both planned and spontaneously.
There is plenty of space for everyone to move around, both around the living area and the kitchen. There is a weekly cleaning schedule and some costs need to be contributed to buying toiletries and cleaning supplies every other month.
The house is managed by the church right next door, Corvinus Kirche. The pastor, Anke Well, is the main landlord and is very supportive during the whole move in process and any other time of the year. Your religious beliefs do not matter for you to be eligible to rent the rooms. The only requirement is that you are an international student at the University. You will receive all documents necessary for registering at the city office.
I have some furniture and household items that I would be happy to give to you for a small price. These prices can be negotiated depending on what you want.
