Hi there,
Since I am currently abroad for a longer period of time for my PhD, I'm offering my furnished double room in a shared flat for subletting from the beginning of January. Because of New Year's, I am quite flexible with the move-in date, so feel free to let me know when you would like to move in.
The flat is located in an old building, so the ceilings are pleasantly high. The rooms are both around 12.5 square meters, with one being the walk-through room to the second. So far, I used the first room as a living/work space with a desk and a sofa and put the bed and wardrobe in the second room. I would like to leave sofa, shelves, bed, desk, and chair there, so everything is furnished already.
The windows are both facing east, meaning it's nice and bright in the morning.
The flat has a great location overall. You live directly across the street from a Rewe supermarket, which has opening hours until 10 pm, so that you could easily buy chips for an impromptu movie night, for instance. Other supermarkets are also nearby, including a Lidl, an Aldi, an Edeka, an Arab supermarket and an organic market.
The Central Campus is within a few minutes walking distance. The other uni buildings are easily accessible thanks to the good bus connection (bus stops Blauer Turm, Kreuzbergring, or Goßlerstraße, all three to five minutes on foot). This way you can also easily get to the North Campus or to the Maths buildings in the South.
Since you live in the southern part of Weende, the city center is also just around the corner by bike or bus. Of course, you need a little longer than to get to the Central Campus, but I've been cycling to the city center in 10 minutes at most.
Otherwise, the WG is located very quietly in a secondary street.
You will live with Alexej and Michi. Alexej is currently finishing his PhD in chemistry, which means he is in the lab or writing up during the week. Michi has just moved to Göttingen to do a PhD in chemistry as well. The flat is on the more quiet side overall, but we love to have nice in-depth conversations or organise great cooking evenings. Other than that, Felix is currently living in your room as a subtenant until the end of December while he is finishing up his practical year at the University Hospital.
At the moment, we have a fairly loose plan for cleaning together, as we used to organise it more on demand. For smaller expenses, such as onions, kitchen rolls, etc. we did not divvy up the costs in the past, because that was too much of a hassle for us. But because that was distributed fair on its own, it was no problem anyway :)
The flat also has a cellar room and a bicycle parking space. It also has a large kitchen with a pleasantly sized storage room, where there is a fridge, a freezer, and space for lots of supplies. The toilet and bathroom are separate, so that there is also no problem if someone takes a little longer.
We are looking forward to you! :)
