**Important: The new roommate must be willing to be Hauptmieter. The landlord's requirement is that they must be working, past the Probezeit of their work contract, and have an income of at least € 2600 per month (Netto). If you are from outside the EU, you must already be in possession of a valid visa that is good until at least October 2024. Please only apply if you meet those requirements!
Room:
This room is unfurnished, approximately 20 square meters, and has direct access to a private balcony, which faces the courtyard. There is a lot of sun throughout the day in the flat. The flat has one bathroom and a big living/dining area. The kitchen is split into two little rooms, with a balcony attached.
Location:
Although the address is Rotherbaum, the flat is located very close to the university. 15 min walking from Dammtor, but there is a bus station right outside the front door which will take you there a bit faster. Within walking distance we have plenty of restaurants, the Alster, Planten un Blomen, etc.
About the WG:
The WG will be newly formed in September. For now, it is me (Kirsten) living here with Max and Joey. Joey will move out to do his Master's, and Max to live on his own. Currently, we have a cat named Link (technically, he belongs to Max), who I will miss probably even more than my flatmates :( The building itself is pet-friendly, and I would love to live with another animal. It is, however, a lot of stairs for a dog to manage. Since both Max and Joey are moving out, I am looking for two new flatmates.
About me: I'm originally from the US and while I'm learning German, it's better to stick to English for now :) I'd also happily practice my rusty Spanish!! I've lived in Hamburg for a little over a year, and am working here at a marketing agency. I love animals and in my free time am usually at the stables with the horse I lease here. Apart from that, I love to cook (mainly vegan/vegetarian) and travel with my friends. I also love to read books (everything from romance novels to non-fiction, mainly business, sustainability, or health related topics), am addicted to TikTok, and have recently started crocheting, so I'm really thriving in my grandma era.
It's really important to me that the flat stays clean and tidy. The most important thing here is to keep the kitchen clean and free of dirty dishes (we have a dishwasher, so that should be relatively simple!).
A lot of the furniture in the flat belongs to Max, so we'll have to decide together what we want to keep and what we want to change. I personally want to change things up a bit and make it a bit cozier :)
Please write in English and give a bit of information about yourself -- how old you are, what you're doing in Hamburg, what you like to do in your free time, etc. :) It would be great also if you could make it clear that you've read all of the information listed here.
