Hi,
I’m Margaret, 46, I’m Deaf and I come from Kenya, East Africa. I will be a full-time researcher and PhD student at Hamburg University, and I’m looking for a room in a shared flat — either for a short period while I get settled, or up to a few years until my program is finished.
I have lived abroad before (Washington DC, USA and Maryland, USA) and I have travelled internationally, however this is going to be my first time living in Germany. I’m very excited to know Hamburg and is environs.
During my stay in the USA, I also lived with roommates and I’m happy in a communal environment. My office is near Stephensplatz U-Bahn, and I will work there most of the weekdays. I will also take research trips occasionally and may be away for a few weeks at a time. It would be great if I can find roommates, who are signers, but it is not necessary for you to sign, and I can teach you some signs
My friends and colleagues describe me as energetic. I enjoy group hiking, jogging and gym workouts. I also enjoy going for yoga classes to rewind and chatting with people.
I like sharing meals together every once in a while. I like to keep common living spaces pretty clean. I am open to the idea of a cleaning schedule to keep things organized and maintain a nice shared space.
