Hello everyone,
we are looking for a new flatmate for our three-room WG (photos coming in the next days). The flat is located on the ground floor of an old house in the south of Weststadt. The apartment has a very well equipped kitchen comprising a dishwasher, it has a large corridor, a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet, a spacious cellar, a bicycle storage and a laundry room with 2 washing machines shared with the house.
The room will be available from mid-March (more precise dates coming soon), and it is approximately 22 m² large. It is very bright with two renewed windows and quiet. The cold rent is about 435€/month + 38€ for internet and electricity. The tenant who is leaving is also selling her wardrobe and possibly further items of the furniture like a sofa and a bed (~250 euros for everything)
The apartment is very well served by public transportation. It is very close (1 minutes walk) to the S-Bahnhof Weststadt/Südstadt and the related bus stop, from which one can easily reach Bismarckplatz (15 minutes walk, or bus 29 and tram 23 every 10 minutes), Heidelberg Hbf and the Neuenheimer Feld (tram 24 also every 10 minutes). EMBL/MPIK/MPA can also be easily reached with the bus 39 leaving from Alois-Link-Platz, at only 4 minutes walk. The closest supermarkets are Netto, Nahkauf and Alnatura, at 5 minutes walk, but one can easily reach a Penny, a Denns Biomarkt and an EDEKA in the Bahnhofstrasse, as well as a Kaufland in the Kurfürsten-Anlage.
I am an Italian PhD student in my 20s (Luca) and my flatmate Valentina is an Italian postdoc in her 30s. I speak English, a bit of German (still learning) and a bit of Spanish; Valentina speaks fluently English, French and Spanish.
I love doing cardio outside (running, cycling, unicycling) and free body training. I play the piano and during the lockdown I have started learning how to create electronic music. I am also passionate about photography. Other activities that I love to do, but for which I will have to wait the end of the pandemic are traveling, dancing (salsa, swing, both beginner), bouldering and going to techno parties. Ah, also I write code for a living and in my free time, and I am a big fan of automation and efficiency :D
Valentina is a postdoc in Heidelberg University. She has a very regular working schedule, she is a quiet and nice person. When she is not at work, she likes cinema, reading, hanging out with friends or cooking with the household. She likes travelling a lot and used to dance latino music. More about her when you meet us :)
We are looking for a nice, neat and friendly person to share our flat with. We are very respectful of each other's spaces but we also enjoy having social moments, like having dinner or watch a movie together from time to time.
We take the corona rules very seriously; if you think that your current approach of the pandemic could lead to a chain of infections inside the house please don't contact us.
After contacting us via message we can arrange an online visit of the flat, eventually followed by a real one with masks.
PhD students, postdocs and professionals are particularly encouraged to apply! The ideal candidate would be a visiting scholar or intern/etc staying for 5-9 months, but also long term stays are welcome. Please specify in your message how long you would plan to stay (this is also our way to find who read the ad until this point :P)
Also, it would be nice if you included in your email a few details about yourself: what you do in Heidelberg, what are your hobbies, which kind of flatshare you are looking for, etc.
