Hallo liebe Studierende und andere Wohnungssuchende in Jena,
bestimmt seid ihr bei Eurer Wohnungssuche schon auf das „internationale Studentenhaus“ am Johannisplatz 16 gestoßen. Dabei handelt es sich leider um ein überteuertes, schlecht betreutes Wohnhaus, in dem man nur selten seine Kaution wiederbekommt und beim Abschließen des Mietvertrags stark unter Druck gesetzt wird.

Ich weiß, gerade kurz vor dem Semesterstart ist es in Jena schwierig, ein Zimmer zu finden, aber passt auf euch auf und lasst euch nicht abzocken!
Googelt am besten immer einmal bevor ihr irgendwo einzieht, ob es da schon irgendwelche Berichte zu dem Haus gibt. Viel Erfolg weiterhin!

You have probably come across the "Internationales Studentenhaus" at Johannisplatz 16 as you were looking for an apartment. Unfortunately, this is an overpriced, poorly maintained apartment building where your chances to get your deposit back are very low. There is also a lot of pressure when it comes to signing the contract.

I know it's difficult to find a room in Jena just before the start of the semester, but take care and don't let yourself be ripped off!
It's always best to google before you move in to see if there are any reports about the house. Hopefully you will find something good soon!
