Hey!
I'll be away for a few months this summer and I'm looking for a friendly human to occupy this space!
So, short and sweet:
The room (5. OG) is technically 30qm due to the slanted ceilings, but the floor space is more like 35qm. It's not in the pictures, but the main window opens and folds out into a little private balcony, which is great in the summer. It's a really nice space – not much else to say! :)
Kitchen, living room, and bathroom are downstairs (4. OG). We don't technically have a balcony, but we have a fire-escape out the kitchen window that we spend time on. There's a mat so you can walk on it barefoot comfortably, and you can even hang a hammock.
***Quick note about the photos: I took them with a 14mm lens, which is pretty wide, so things appear slightly bigger than they are. Just subtract like 15% from the size you see in the photos and that'll be closer to reality.
Well, I used to be able to say that we were on the "quiet" side of Ehrenfeld, but now there's a massive construction site behind our house, so... that aspect of the location isn't great. Just being honest.
But besides the construction, I love where it's situated in the city. It's a 5-minute bike ride away from all my favorite supermarkts and it's only a 10-minute walk to the U3/4 (Leyendeckerstraße). There's also a bus stop right at the front door.
I have two roommates, who are also both masters students. We're all usually pretty busy, but we still find time to hang out downstairs in the kitchen and living room together, when our schedules align. We're pretty open about sharing food and there are often leftovers up for grabs on the stove! We're all vegan/vegetarian, and we'd definitely prefer someone who doesn't eat meat.
We also get a bi-weekly vegetable box delivery from a farm nearby (Apfelbacher) that has an assortment of things– usually zucchini, mushrooms, potatoes, onions, cabbage, more cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, weird roots that I never know what to do with... and apple juice. It's already included in the Nebenkosten :)
We also try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Biomüll, separated bins, ya know, the whole thing.
Your room shares a wall with one of my roommates, and part of the floor space with our downstairs neighbor. The neighbor is... let's just say... difficult..., but we're peaceful with her and we try to stay pretty quiet in the evenings so she stays happy. The building is very old and squeaky, so I just try my best to be light-footed when moving around past 10 PM. So to put it in other words: we're looking for a calm, responsible person who isn't planning on throwing parties. The more boring you are, the better :D
