Your future room is facing the south-west, just like the toilet and the kitchen, so you get direct sunlight since early in the morning!
The room is completely furnished: 1,40m bed, blankets, a massive desk, shelves, wardrobes... but you can also bring some stuff if you want to. Actually, in the entrance of the building you can find some good furniture "zu verschenken" from time to time (we got some of ours from there, hehe)
The room has two heaters, is well isolated and very quiet. Throught the window you can see the trains arriving to Leipzig, but the noise is so gentle that you can even sleep with the windows open.
The room is available from February on (preferebly after the 15th, but we can talk about it), until (at least) the end of May, but it depends on Lea (the owner of the room, who will be doing her Erasmus semester in Turkey).
Also, the owners of the apartment already know we're gonna subrent the room, so if you want you can make it official and be part of the Zwischenmiete contract and do your Anmeldung here :)
Our WG is in Stannebeinplatz, right across the entrance of the Mariannenpark. Once you cross the Hermann-Liebman bridge you're already in the Eisenbahnstraße, where you can find anything you want: pubs, cafes, stores, cheap places for having lunch or dinner, hairdressers... It's one of the active centers of the city :)
We have a Späti downstairs, a Netto around the corner (literally one minute away walking!), a Penny just one street away, and also a Rewe a bit further (10 minutes away), so you have lots of different options.
The tram 1 and the bus 70 stop right in front of the building door. You can even check the timings looking trough José's window. We're pretty well-connected, as the tram 1 connects directly with the main train station (HbF). But if you prefer riding a bike rather than using public transport, you can park it in the streetlights in front of the door (José usually leaves his bike there, outside) or in the inner garden. If you don't have bike, you can use Lea's, but take good care of it, as it means a lot to her :)
Lea (27, Germany) and me (José, 27, Spain) live together in Stannebeinplatz since July 2021. We are very close friends, and living together has been very easy so far, that's why I'm looking for someone that fits the best way possible in the WG environment while Lea is enjoying herself in Turkey for her Erasmus semester.
I (José) work as a call center agent in the mornings next to Augustusplatz, but I'm officialy a Spanish teacher for foreigners, so when I come home I give some online lessons from my room. That means that you have the house for yourself in the morning :) I love playing guitar (most of the times when I'm home alone), singing (!!), drawing, and handcraft in general (I'm currently building a lamp for my room). I consider myself a very creative person :)
The WG is pretty relaxed: it's not a Party-WG, but you're free to invite friends anytime. As we don't have a livingroom, we use the kitchen or our rooms for any meetings, but in any case we like to let each other know (a bit in advance) when someone is coming.
Keeping the apartment clean and organised is VERY important for us. However, we don't have a cleaning plan. As funcional adults we have a very simple motto: "keep it clean". You use something? You clean it, as simple as it is.
The "big" tasks (mopping the floor, vacuuming...) we do them when when we clean our rooms. If I broom my room, I broom the rest of the house too (it's 50 sqm, it takes 3 minutes haha); if I take a bath, and I have nothing planned for later, I clean a bit the bathtub; if I'm going for a walk, I bring the rubbish down, and so on. For this reason I expect you to be a VERY responsible person who REALLY takes care of your room and feels the same about the rest of the house. We love our home, it's our "safe space" and our temple <3
We manage the finances through an app (Flatastic), and we both take care equally of buying general stuff like cleaning products, toilet paper, etc. I also buy my own food, we just share things like salt, olive oil... but I love cooking together and I don't mind sharing my stuff at all :) Sharing is caring!
I'm a vegetarian, so it is very important for me to live with someone that is also a vegetarian/vegan, as I don't like it too much to have meat in the fridge :( However, it's all about comunication: if you think you're a good candidate, and you eat meat, text me anyways!! :)
As flatmates, I would love to do things together from time to time, like having dinner (in- or outside), sharing some wine in the kitchen, watching a movie... I'm super flexible about all tha t :) but in any case this is NOT a Zweck-WG.
Also, as a member of the LBGTQ+ comunity, I would like you to be someone not necessarily part of it, but 100% tolerant and openminded about it. As I said, this apartment should be a safe space for both of us <3
Being vaccinated is a must!
If you think you're a good candidate (and if you've read this far, you probably are haha), text me so we can have a videocall to get to know each other and see how we're vibing :)
In order for me to know that you have read the whole text, please start your message with "I love strawberry juice!".
Everything you have read is super flexible, communication is always the key!
Lots of love <3 <3
José
Ps: apart from native Spanish, I speak fluently English and Italian, and my German is good enough for a conversation. So if you don't feel comfortable using English in our daily life, we have more possibilities :)
