The town of Klosterbuch

The surrounding landscape is a paradise for nature lovers: Auenwiesen, munter plundering streams and dense forests invite you to walks and bike tours that start right in front of our front door. Right next door is the historical monastery “Book” (namer of the place), which today - especially in the summer - regularly awakens as a tranquil cultural centre with peasant and art markets and cosy atmosphere. Our neighbor – the friendly host of the place – will spoil you with homemade cakes or a ball of ice on the weekend.

Despite this idyllic location, all amenities can be reached quickly: in just five minutes by car (20 minutes by bike) you reach Leisnig with supermarkets (Rewe, Penny, Aldi, DM) and a charming cultural railway station with regular small concerts, bar and subculture. A little further away, about 20 minutes by car, is dumplings with large-scale shopping facilities such as purchasing land, construction market etc. For excursions to the big city, take the regional train, which runs every hour from the railway station, 20 minutes away and takes you to Leipzig in an hour (last return at 22:00). Dresden can also be reached by car in about an hour, by train about two and a half hours. Thus, Klosterbuch combines relaxed land life with urban mobility.

Die umliegende Landschaft ist ein Paradies für Naturliebhaber: Auenwiesen, munter plätschernde Bäche und dichte Wälder laden zu Spaziergängen und Radtouren ein, die direkt vor unserer Haustür beginnen. Gleich nebenan erhebt sich das historische Kloster “Buch” (Namensgeber des Ortes), das heute - vor allem im Sommer - regelmäßig als beschauliches Kulturzentrum mit Bauern- und Kunstmärkten und gemütlicher Stimmung erwacht. Unser Nachbar – der freundliche Gastwirt des Ortes – verwöhnt euch am Wochenende gerne mit hausgemachtem Kuchen oder einer Kugel Eis.

Trotz dieser idyllischen Lage sind alle Annehmlichkeiten schnell erreichbar: In nur fünf Minuten mit dem Auto (20 Minuten per Rad) erreicht ihr Leisnig mit Supermärkten (Rewe, Penny, Aldi, DM) und einem charmanten Kulturbahnhof mit regelmäßigen kleinen Konzerten, Bar und Subkultur. Etwas weiter entfernt, in etwa 20 Autominuten, liegt Döbeln mit großflächigen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten wie Kaufland, Baumarkt usw. Für Ausflüge in die Großstadt nehmt ihr den Regionalzug, der stündlich vom fußläufig 20 Minuten entfernten Bahnhof abfährt und euch in einer Stunde nach Leipzig bringt (letzte Rückfahrt um 22 Uhr). Dresden ist per Auto ebenfalls in rund einer Stunde erreichbar, mit der Bahn etwa zweieinhalb Stunden entfernt. So verbindet Klosterbuch entspanntes Landleben mit urbaner Mobilität.

Sula and Ringo build an online business. Marc works as a personal assistant and is enthusiastic about music and culture. Charlotte is the newest member of the WG, starts a training in July and likes to bake passionately.
