A small (11m2) room has opened up in our flatshare in Giesing. The room has a window facing a small garden and gets nice afternoon sun. The room is fully furnished (see pictures) with a (bed, desk, closet and draws) and these items can be purchased from the existing tenant for 200Eur. Of course, we can make another plan if you have your own furniture.
The apartment is a 1 min walk to an Edeka and Penny, a 5 min walk from Lidl and DM, and a 10 min walk from Rewe. Giesing station (S-bahn line 3,7 and U-bahn line 2,7) is a 10 min walk away and the bus stops for Chiemgaustrasse and Balanstrasse (lines 59, 139, 145) are right outside the apartment.
Flat:
The room on offer is one of three bedrooms in the flatshare.The shared areas are a fully furnished kitchen, and living/dining room with a small balcony (that mainly serves as a beer fridge in winter!), as well as the bathroom and separate toilet.
The kitchen is already stocked with the most necessary appliances as well as pots, pans, and utensils. There is also a small table with chairs to have a cosy meal. The living/dining room has a sleeper-couch, Smart TV (with Netflix), and picnic-style dining table. It is also the home to plenty of plants since we treasure the presence of these green companions. The bathroom has a bath-shower and a washing machine. There is a small storage closet-room inside the apartment and also a storage space in the basement. You will need to pay (420 Euro) towards the communal furniture that already occupies the flat.
We appreciate a clean and orderly apartment and have a weekly cleaning schedule with tasks that rotate between the flatmates.
Flatmates:
In the apartment, you will be living with Lloyd, Janien, and Juan.
Lloyd and Janien are both 29, from Cape Town, and working/studying at TUM. They share the bigger room and enjoy travelling whenever they get the chance. When he is not working on his PhD in Earth Observation, Lloyd can be found enjoying time cooking or fishing in the Bavarian outdoors. Janien enjoys afternoon naps and is often found awake in the middle of the night, either studying or working for her remote job. She is interested in social justice and the human condition across countries and cultures.
Juan is 30, and is doing his PhD in the area of machine learning. He is originally from Colombia and has been living in Germany for 5 years. He enjoys travelling, hiking and doing sports.
As flatmates, we do not spend much time together as we are all quite with work or other commitments, but we do enjoy the occasional beer and chat, or sharing a meal when everyone's around and available.
About You:
Overall, we are looking for someone of a similar age to us that will fit in well with our current lifestyle: someone that is also down-to-earth, independent and low maintenance. Someone that enjoys partying/entertaining a lot, would not be a good fit since our neighbours are mainly families that do not appreciate these kinds of disturbances. Ideally, we are looking for someone that also has a full and active life; it doesn’t really matter too much what your hobbies or interests are, as long as you are a reasonable, kind and respectful person.
You should also be looking to move in for at least a year. Preference will be given to those that want to stay longer than this, and who are fluent in German.
