Hello!

I am Ilia, a student from St Petersburg, Russia, coming to Munich to do a PhD in astrophysics at the MPE. My PhD contract starts in September and lasts 3 years. So, I am looking for a fully-furnished room in a flatshare in Munich or its neighbourhoods for the first few (3 -- 6) months to get familiar with the city, but a long-term rent option would be great, too.

Most of the time I will be in Garching working on my PhD. I am an introvert, so in my free time, I prefer calm and relaxing activities like walking or cycling, coding, reading books or doing origami. However, I have nothing against parties (if they are not very often ;) and would enjoy a good talk in the evenings about literally anything (except politics). I don't know German yet (except for a few basic phrases) but would be happy to learn it while I am in Germany.
Apart from being an astronomer, I am a bit geeky, like free software, old ThinkPad laptops and decentralized networks, so if your router wants to have OpenWrt flashed on it, I would be glad to help the device ;) I am a clean person, prefer order over chaos, lived in dorms and flatshares in the past and learned the hard way why the dishes should be washed right after cooking before they get dry.

I am arriving in Munich on August 24, so I am open to videocalls any time before this date or can show up on an in-person tour starting from it. I can bring a copy of my Aufnahmevereinbarung as proof of finances if required.
