Looking for a room in shared apartment for a student

Hi! I am Seemant Mishra,

I am (25 yrs old, male) from India, and have joined the University of Osnabrueck as a Ph.D. student in theoretical physics in October 2023. I have an MSc from an Indian university (IISER, Pune) in physics, and hope to continue to study similar things in my PhD.

I am looking for a room in a shared apartment in Osnabrueck, preferably (but not necessarily) close to the Westerberg campus. Currenlty, I am staying in a temporary accommodation for some time. But I would like to have a more permanent accommodation soon (hopefully before the end of this year), and I can start renting the room anytime before December 31st. I would also prefer to stay for longer terms since I'll be here in Osnabrueck for quite some time. I can even drop by for an on-site visit if you'd like!

Regarding my interests, I really like listening to music a lot. I generally listen to music which could come into the genre of indie/folk music, but I am open to anything that sounds interesting. (A recent obsession of mine has been a song called Desert Song by a band called Saje, maybe that could give you some idea about my musical tastes?) Recently, I have also developed an interest in making music, and have been learning fingerstyle guitar and the keyboard. What kinds of music do you listen to? I am not much of a sports person right now, but I also hope to get into such activities.

I am a bit introverted in nature, so sometimes I like to be by myself with my own thoughts. But I also enjoy socialising in small groups of people. I would consider myself more of a listener than a talker, and I really like to listen to different perspectives of people. I would be excited for any shared flat activities like having a random chat, or playing games together etc. Since I am new to Germany, any shared activities would be a great way to learn more about German culture and experience new things. I'll also be begining my German language lessons soon, so hopefully I can at least introduce myself by the end of the year :)

I also like my room and surroundings to be little organised, so keeping things clean won't be a problem for me. In terms of cooking, I can cook basic indian meals and curries, and expect that I will be cooking atleast a few times a week. I am a vegetarian, so I would prefer flatmates who are also vegetarian/vegan (but non-vegetarian flatmates are not a deal-braker).

All the search criteria mentioned in this ad are not set in stone, and I wouldn't mind small changes. If you would have a vacancy, please feel free to ask/discuss more about any details about me or the shared apartment.
