Da ich für ein paar Monate ins Ausland gehe, werde ich lediglich meine persönlichen Sachen im Keller verstauen und sonst alle Möbel, die auch auf den Bildern zu sehen sind, im Zimmer lassen. Es ist etwa 14 Quadratmeter groß und liegt mit zwei anderen Zimmern auf einem Flur mit einem Klo und einem Bad mit Dusche. Auf der anderen Seite der WG liegt dann ein paralleler Flur.
As I'm going abroad for a few months, my room will stay furnished and I will just move my personal things into the basement. All the furniture you can see on the photos will stay in the room. UÍt's about 14 square metres big and shares a hallway, shower and toilet with two other rooms. On the other side of the apartment there's an identical hallway with three more rooms.
Der Geissweg liegt etwa auf halben Weg zwischen Berg und Tal, ist also von überall her gut zu erreichen - auch mit dem Bus, der nur ein paar Meter von der Haustür entfernt hält und regelmäßig in die Stadt und auf den Berg fährt (Linie 5 oder 16). Mit dem Fahrrad zur Uni dauert es nur ein paar Minuten. Das Haus ist eines von fünf, die zusammen das Geissweg-Wohnheim bilden. Es gehört zum Studierendenwerk, ist aber selbstverwaltet, was das Leben um einiges einfacher macht. Der Hof, die Feuerstelle, Partykeller, Trampolin und Musikraum werden gemeinsam genutzt.
The "Geissweg" is about half way in between the university buildings on the hill and those in the valley, so it's easy to reach from just about anywhere. There is a bus that stops basically just outside the buildings and can take you up or down the hill regularly. By bike, the valley is only a few minutes away. The building is one of five in the Geissweg complex which is owned by the university but is self-governed. The yard, fire place, party basement, trampoline and music room are used collectively.
Aktuell befindet sich die WG in einem großen Umbruch (was für den Geissweg nicht ungewöhnlich ist). In der Zeit, in der mein Zimmer frei ist, werden JP, Alina und Clara auf jeden Fall dort wohnen. JP studiert Medizin und arbeitet als Rettungssanitäter, Alina studiert Bio und Clara fängt erst zum Wintersemester ihr Studium an. Eines der Zimmer wird an einen internationalen Studierenden vergeben - wer das ist, wissen wir noch nicht, sind aber gespannt! Außerdem ist noch ein weiteres Zimmer zur Zwischenmiete frei, da ist also auch noch alles offen. Bisher ist die WG aber sehr familiär und gemeinschaftlich - sowohl in der Wohnküche als auch im Hof wird regelmäßig zusammen rumgehangen, Musik gehört, Bier getrunken oder gekocht.
The flat is currently being mixed up quite a bit - which isn't unusual for Geissweg. During the time that I'm away, JP, Alina and Clara will definitely be living there. JP is studying medicine and works as a paramedic, Alina is studying Biology and Clara will be starting university this winter. One of the other rooms will be provided to an international student - we don't know who that is going to be but we're excited to find out! Up to now, the flat has always been very communal, friendly and open. You can always find someone to hang out with, listen to music, have a beer or cook a meal in the kitchen or in the Geissweg yard.
Die Ein- und Auszugsdaten sind nicht fix - ich weiß noch nicht genau, wann ich wegfahre und wiederkomme, das lässt sich also noch ändern!
