Feines kleines Zimmer in 7er-WG am Karlsplatz

Ab Juni wird mein Zimmer frei, ich ziehe ziemlich spontan für einen Job nach Zürich und verlasse daher schweren Herzens nach 3,5 Jahren die WG (und Wien).

Das Zimmer ist nach Süd-Westen ausgerichtet und bekommt durch das Dachfester ab dem späten Morgen viel Licht. Durch die Dachschräge ist es sehr gemütlich und luftig und wirklich hell. Es würde mich freuen, wenn Du die Möbel übernehmen würdest, es handelt sich dabei um einen Eigenbau, der ein 140er Bett mit viel Stauraum, einen Schreibtisch und einen kleinen Schrank umfasst und das Zimmer damit in einen Schlaf- und einen Arbeitsbereich teilt (Wenn nicht, soll es daran aber auch nicht scheitern).

Du würdest mit Adriana, Amelie, Edward, Elena, Jaro und Lukas zusammenwohnen. Wir sind alle zwischen Mitte 20 und Mitte 30 mit vielen gemeinsamen und vielen verschiedenen Geschichten, Interessen und Gewohnheiten. Vor 10 Jahren wurde die WG gegründet, seither sind viele Leute ein- aus- und manche auch wieder zurückgezogen. Die WG hat noch immer Verbindungen und Freundschaften zu den Anfänge(r)n, also gibt es oft Besuch oder Sachen, die man zusammen in großer Gruppe unternehmen kann. Besonders ist an einer WG dieser Größe, dass trotz vielen Menschen und buntem Leben jeder seine Ruhe haben kann und man sich nie wirklich im Weg ist, man gleichzeitig aber auch immer jemanden zum gemeinsamen Kochen, Auf-die-Donauinsel-fahren, Zusammensitzen, Filme schauen etc findet. Durch die großen Gemeinschaftsräume gibt es neben dem Zimmer auch viel Platz für diverse Aktivitäten.

Die Lage ist super zentral. Wenn du es die Treppen vom 5. Geschoß runtergeschafft hast, stehst du fast am Karlsplatz. Falls neu in Wien: Besonders im Sommer ist das ein sehr gemütlicher Treffpunkt, tagsüber und am Abend. Mit U1/U4 sowie verschiedenen Straßenbahnlinien ist man öffentlich sehr gut angebunden. Nur ein paar Gehminuten entfernt liegen Billa, Hofer, Spar Denn‘s, DM, Swing Kitchen, Naschmarkt, allerlei Cafés und Bars, und 2 Kinos. Ums Eck gibts eine Buchhandlung und gleich in unserer Gasse ist die Werkstatt der Rad Lobby. (Sehr praktisch, falls du auch Radlfahrer*in bist.)

Gemeinschaftsräume:
Die WG befindet sich im Dachgeschoß und ist insgesamt etwa 230 m² groß. Sie ist quadratisch um einen Hof herum angelegt: Zuerst kommst du in ein geräumiges Vorzimmer, das wir als (Raucher-) Lounge verwenden und kuschelig eingerichtet haben. Wenn du rechts abbiegst, gehts Richtung Küche an unserer Gästetoilette und unseren zwei Bädern vorbei. Die Küche mit großem Esstisch ist ostseitig ausgerichtet und fängt die Morgensonne ein. Das Wohnzimmer (gelegentlich auch Kino [Beamer!], Yogastudio, Dancefloor, Versammlungsraum) ist der größte Gemeinschaftsraum, schließt an die Küche an und geht schließlich in den Gang über. Vom Gang aus kannst du dann abspringen in die sieben Zimmer und wenn du den Flur, der ein paar Wendungen macht, zu Ende gehst, landest du wieder im Vorzimmer. Man kann also in beide Richtungen gehen und sich von verschiedenen Seiten treffen.
Die WG-Zimmer sind mit 10-23 m2 allesamt nicht riesig, was durch die großen Gemeinschaftsflächen aber vollkommen okay ist. Das wir gemeinsam so viel Platz haben, ermöglicht uns ein feines, abwechslungsreiches Zusammenleben.

Die Miete beträgt 392 Euro warm inkl. Internet etc. Zusätzlich gibt es leider eine Kaution von 1.800 € pro Zimmer, die jeweils an die Vormieter*in weiterüberwiesen wird.

My room will be available from June, I'm moving to Zurich and therefore I'm leaving the WG (and Vienna) with a heavy heart after 3.5 years.

The room faces south-west and gets a lot of light in the late morning through the skylight. The pitched roof makes it very cosy and airy and really bright. I would be happy if you would take over the furniture, which is a very sturdy self-built unit comprising a 140 cm bed with plenty of storage space, a desk and a small wardrobe, dividing the room into a sleeping and a working area.

You would be living with Adriana, Amelie, Edward, Elena, Jaro and Lukas. We're all between our mid-20s and mid-30s, with some shared and some quite different stories, interests and habits. The WG was founded 10 years ago and since then many people have moved in and out and some have even moved back again. We still have connections and friendships with our beginners, so there are often visitors or things to do together in a large group. What's special about a WG of this size is that, despite the many people and colourful life, everyone can have their peace and quiet and you're never really in each other's way, but at the same time you can always find someone to cook together, go to the Donauinsel, etc. The whole thing runs very smoothly overall and the large communal areas mean that there is plenty of space for all kinds of activities.

The apartment is located centrally near the Karlsplatz – a popular meeting place, especially during the summer. The subway lines U1 and U4 as well as several trams provide outstanding accessibility. Within a few minutes walking, you can reach several drug and grocery stores (Billa, DM, Hofer, Spar, Denn’s), coffee shops, bars, restaurants, two cinemas and the Naschmarkt. There’s also a workshop from the 'Rad Lobby' just across our entrance door, which comes in very handy if you like to move about on a bike.

Common rooms:
The shared flat is located on the top floor and is about 230 m² in size. It is laid out in a square around an atrium: First you enter a spacious anteroom, which we use as a (smoking) lounge and have furnished in a cosy style. If you turn right, you will pass our guest toilet and our two bathrooms in the direction of the kitchen. The kitchen with its large dining table faces east and catches the morning sun. The living room (occasionally also used as a cinema [we have a good projector!], yoga studio, dance floor, meeting room) is the largest communal room, adjoins the kitchen and finally leads into the corridor. From the corridor you can then jump off into the seven rooms and if you finish the corridor, which makes a few turns, you end up back in the anteroom. So you can walk in both directions and meet each other from different sides.
At 10-23 square metres, the rooms are not huge, but that's perfectly okay due to the large communal areas. Thanks to the layout of the flat and the different character of the rooms, you can always find a place to chill out or retreat to. The fact that we have so much space together makes the flat so special and allows us to live together in a nice, varied way.

The rent is 392 euros warm incl. internet etc. Unfortunately, there is also a deposit of €1,800 per room, which is transferred to the previous tenant.
