1 AUG 2023 - 31 JUL 2024 - Long Term Sublet for SINGLE WOMAN ONLY - with Anmeldung in Kreuzkölln

I'm looking to sublet my apartment to a single woman for one year: 31 July 2023 -24. Anmeldung is possible. The address is Friedelstr 52, so it's in a great location full of cafes, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, parks, and the canal. It's a 3 minute walk to Hermannplatz so you have the U7 and U8 right around the corner. The apartment is 55 sqm: small bathroom w/ shower, kitchen, and 2 bedrooms. It's on the 4th floor of a walkup, lots of light, and friendly people in the building (I can introduce you to your neighbor as she is a great person to know!). Because the apartment is in the back it's really quiet and peaceful.

From 1 August 2023 to July 31 2024 you will be contracted/registered from the current leaseholder who is renewing her lease for one more year. We will both be on the lease but since I am away due to a family emergency you will have the place to yourself. The security deposit is €2000 (€1500 to the landlord and €500 to me). I won't be renewing my gas/electricity/wifi contract so those are things you will need to set up beginning August 1st.

Although we won't be living together since I will be in the states during this time due to an elderly father, here is a bit about me: I'm 37 yr old from NYC, living in Berlin since 2019. I'm a freelance artist, designer, sometimes art teacher, and art assistant. I wear many hats but my main focus is my art practice as I have received several grants this past year to make new work around body sensors, somatic surveillance, and algorithmic bias. I'm interested in ecology, phenomenology, queer theory, quantum physics, and biology. I sometimes work with scientists and technologists, and I'm passionate about learning new things.

I like to keep a clean house, with clear communication and transparency. I'm easy going but when issues arise (if they do) it's really important that they get talked through rather than built up. I enjoy home cooked meals, chilling out in a calm environment, an occasional glass of wine, reading, hiking, and traveling. I'm a social introvert.

I'm looking for someone who is at least mid-late 30's and is also interested in living in a calm and mature environment. They must be responsible, have the ability to take the initiative, fix things, have direct communication, be self-aware, and have a green thumb (I'm leaving my plants behind so plant lovers are preferred). No smokers and no pets please. I'm really looking for people who are past the party stage.
