This recently-renovated historic apartment has 2 bedrooms, a spacious kitchen/dining/living room with a sofa bed, 2 bathrooms (1 shower), a dishwasher, and an in-unit washing machine.
The apartment is high quality, charming, and very comfortable: lots of light, large windows, very high ceilings, crown molding, lovely wood floors, a nice kitchen with plenty of storage, a central courtyard to park your bike, and a locked storage space in the basement. It's fully furnished with everything from cookware to towels, and still a comfortable temperature without heat at this time of year. The bedrooms face on a quiet courtyard, and the street is quiet. The next door neighbors are delightful.
Located on a quiet side street in Kreuzberg's lively Bergmannkiez, everything you might want is just a stone's throw away.
The U Bahn is at the end of the block (U7, Gneisenaustraße station), and buses are around the corner.
There's a delicious Greek restaurant across the street, a small grocery on the corner, two bakeries on the block, and three great organic grocery stores within a 4 minute bike ride. Our cross street, Gneisenaustraße, is lined with restaurants.
Five minutes to the south, Bergmannstraße has cute shops and cafes; the beautiful Landwehr Canal is a 2 minute bike ride north.
The central business district (U Stadtmitte station) is only 14 minutes away by U Bahn, and even faster by bike.
We're leaving Germany and looking for someone to take over our lease from end of January through mid-April. At the end of the lease, you can choose whether to move out or renew the lease (one year at a time). So if you're just visiting for a month or two, or are looking for a place to land in Berlin while you seek more permanent housing, this is the place for you! Long term tenants are also welcomed by the landlord.
