The apartment's address is Bastianstraße 8 (13357 Berlin), it's a calm, cobblestone side street, only a 3 minute walk away from the next tube station (U8, Pankstraße). The apartment is on the third floor of the building, all windows direct to the courtyard, it's very quiet therefore. The wooden planks and the ceiling hight of 3 meters 10 will make you feel at home in a true Berlin "Altbau".

I remodeled and furnished the apartment in the winter of 2015. It's just perfect for 1 or 2 people:

SLEEPING ROOM: The bed (140 cm wide) is big enough for two people. There's two bedding boxes for extra bed linen. Next to the bed: a little night-shelf and a holder, which lets you "strap" your laptop to the wall. The ceiling light cannot only be switched on and off with a switch next to the door but also with one next to the bed. When you switch off the light for sleeping: you don't have to get up.
The closet (200 cm wide) is spacious enough for two people's clothes, it contains 7 boards, 4 boxes and 4 clothes rails for short and long clothes. You can darken the room with a curtain, there's a second curtain that lets daylight pass but shields you from curious neighborly looks.

In the LIVING ROOM you'll find a table for six people. There's cushions for each chair. There's five socket outlets above the table - for your laptops and cellphone chargers. The little couch (recarniere) is perfect for one person or a couple to relax. You will find the little table handy which was made for laptops. Also next to the couch: a 2 meter high book shelf.

The kitchen offers: a fridge with freezer, an oven, a microwave and a stove with a kitchen hood. You'll find all the necessary utensils such as plates, silver ware, glasses and cups, ladels, bowls, toaster, mixer, electric cattle, foam making machine and nespresso coffee machine. The counter of the kitchen is illuminated with an extra LED-light-strip. Also part of the kitchen: A washing machine with an integrated dryer.

In the small LOBBY you'll find a big mirror and several hooks for your coats and keys, there's two boards for your shoes and caps plus a huge stowage rack under the ceiling big enough for your suitcases and other stuff. You'll also love the little (1,5 sqm-big) storage chamber in the staircase.

The BATHROOM: the mirrored bathroom cabinet is ideal for your beauty products, there's also a storage board next to the door. Right next to the cabinet and quite useful: three sockets. A blowdryer is attached to a hook next to the washbasin. And in case you feel like relaxing: there's a tub in the bathroom.

Also part of the "package": a travel-mattress for guests, a laundry rack, an ironing board, an electric iron, a vacuum cleaner and everything else you need for cleaning.

The sonos-loudspeaker sounds terrific and is easy to use with your smart phone e.g. you can stream all your spotify music without any cables.

And yes: There's an internet flat rate. The internet is super fast (20 mbit).

The neighborhood is made for lovers of the "Berlin-feeling": a vibrant mix of urban culture with it's Turkish bakeries and restaurants blending with more and more trendy bars and galleries, that have blossomed in the past 5 years, especially attracting artists and students. The southeast end of Grüntaler Straße (400 meters away) with bars like Fos Bar or the studio 8 became one of the hotspots of this sprawling movement. Other beloved bars in the area: the Jatz Bar (great Jazzclub!), the Ufer Café, the Café Cralle, the WG Bar and the Moritz Bar. For brunching I recommend the Schraders. And in case you like vegan food: in the Stattbad a delicious but very affordable vegan menu is served on Tuesday nights.

There's plenty of possibilities for relaxing or getting in shape: the public park Humboldthain is just a five minute walk away, you could also go jogging at the nearby Uferpromenade or you even might want to do some indoor climbing/bouldering in the just around the corner "Magic Mountain".

Of course there's plenty of shopping possibilities: Lidl and Kaisers are just a three minute walk away. At Gesundbrunnen you'll find a big shopping mall with shops such as Saturn (electronics) and tons of other outlets of other chains.
