For the duration of Feb 4 - Mar 2 I'd like to sublet my spacious design apartment.
My one bedroom apartment features hard-wood floors, wing-doors,
high ceilings and a tranquil courtyard. Its
location is absolutely marvellous with the artsy Donaukanal and
Augarten-Park literally at your doorstep.
The apartment itself is situated in a typical Viennese 19th century
building, featuring high ceilings, original parquet floors and wooden
double wing doors.
The entrance hall leads to a spacious and luminous living room with a sofa (not a sofa bed!) and a large desk.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped (dish washer, gas stove, oven, kettle, blender, fridge, kitchen utensils etc.)
There's a full-size double bed (180 x 200cm) in the generously sized bedroom, and a large closet.
The bathroom features a tub, washing machine and hair-dryer.
Towels and bed linen will be provided.
The apartment's lay-out with the windows to a green backyard (bedroom
window looks upon a tree) makes it very a very quiet space with great
air, and that in the midst of the city!
For the duration of your stay, the entire apartment will be yours. That
means you'll have access to basically everything, apart from personal
items (will be stored away). That includes full bathroom with washing
machine, fully equipped kitchen with every toy your culinary heart may
aspire too, separate toilette, huge desk, library, one big wardrobe, all
necessary cleaning materials and all the other little amenities one
needs for daily life (towels, bad linen etc.)
Without exaggeration, the 2nd district is by far the hippest
neighbourhood in Vienna right now. New cafes, delis and arts spaces
opening on a daily basis, it has become the epicentre of Vienna's
vibrant young art-and-livestyle crowd. With the tranquil Augarten Park
and hip Donaukanal each 50m from the apartment, Schwedenplatz (central
subway hub) 100m away and a Supermarket as well as the Karmelitermarkt
right in front of it, the apartment couldn't be located more
conveniently for you to fully engage in Vienna's upbeat culture from day
one.

The old town with all its famous sights is in walking distance (you can
walk to St Stephen’s Cathedral in about 10 minutes), and the subway will
get you easily around Vienna.
The subway station Schwedenplatz (U1, U4, several tram lines, and even a
bus line running directly to and from the airport) is only a 2 minutes
walk away, and there are many shops, supermarkets, an apothecary and
lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. If your interning at the UN/ VIC, the trip will take you only 8min/ 4 subway stops!
A brief stroll will get you directly to the Karmelitermarkt, an open air
daily market, with a lovely farmers market on saturdays, which is very
popular among locals and therefore always an inviting spot to have one's
morning coffee at one of the many small cafes surrounding it.
Close by you will find two large parks. The Augarten, one of Vienna's
finest Baroque parks, which is also host to two open air cinemas. And
the Wiener Prater, former imperial hunting grounds, with the amusement
park and the famous Ferris wheel.
Literally at your doorsteps, there's the Danube Canal (deviding the
first from the second district), which is particularly nice for it's a beautiful place to have a drink outside in the sun at one of
the many bars and cafes lining it or going for a run.
Please be aware: There's no TV and no microwave in this apartment.
However, please feel free to indulge in a book from my personal library
(English and German). Besides, there's way too many interesting thins
going on outside anyways and when in need, a Wifi stick will be provided
and a lovely vegan cafe with super fast internet is just next door.
