The Apartment is located on the 6th floor of a beautiful old building. The building is renovated and there’s the janitor John who repairs everything around the building and the apartment as needed. The apartment has high ceilings and beautiful wooden floors. It's flooded with light during the day, especially the bedroom with two windows and thus remains pleasantly cool in the summer (direct sun in the afternoon and sunset behind the Sacre-Coeur in the evening). You have a unique view from the window - Paris is literally at your feet. You can see the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur and the district of La Défense. The room is fully furnished with brand-new furniture (only 8-9 months old, no marks of use). I bought almost all pieces of furniture new, carried them up to the apartment and installed everything in September and October. The kitchen is equipped with basic appliances. There’s also a large window in the kitchen, which is perfect to have natural light and get the food smell out. The kitchen is also equipped with a washing machine. There’s a hallway which serves as both an entrance and common area with a table and 2 chairs. Please note, that unlike the bench in the entrance area, the coat check is not included in the apartment’s furniture. There’s a bathroom with a large sink and plenty of storage space above behind the mirror and below in the cupboards. The shower is spacious, the warm water works flawlessly and the water pressure is very good. The toilet is separate and there’s a window.
The other tenants in the house are 90% fellow students and very friendly. Sometimes there are parties in other apartments to meet people. Surprisingly, it was never loud in my apartment and, it is located away from the staircase of the building which always makes it quiet.
Video room tour of the apartment is available upon request.
The apartment is located in the 20th arrondissement, one of the coolest districts in Paris. It’s a little bit like the Shoreditch of London - an upcoming area with plenty of students, lively bars and many little stores that specialize in specific foods. Within 8 mins walk down the street towards Gambetta station, you will pass 3 cheese stores, 4 bakeries, 2 wine stores, 2 fruit/vegetable stores, 2 butcher shops, 1 fresh fish shop, 1 honey store, 1 chocolate shop, 2 tea shops, 2 sushi restaurants etc. There is also a large supermarket directly across the street (30m) and another medium-sized supermarket on the road halfway to Gambetta station. Every Thursday and Sunday theres a fresh wholefoods market right on the street. Here you are surrounded by cool bars (rue Oberkampf is not far), cute cafés, restaurants and many young people. Everything in this district is significantly cheaper than in the center of Paris, as it is not touristy at all. You can always find a beer or something to eat at a relatively affordable price! You will feel like a true Parisian living here. Also, not far away are the beautiful Père Lachaise Cemetery and the Buttes-Chaumont Park. Even at night, I have always felt safe going home by myself, the street is big, well lit and there are always pedestrians walking around.
The Apartment is furnished. There’s a fee of 2200€ for the first and 1500 € for the second rooms’ furniture and kitchen equipment. There’s also a deposit of 150€ for each person which will be returned at the end of the lease if nothing in the apartment needs to be repaired because of damage. Each room is rented out for 680€ each.
