The house was completely renovated in 2017 (+ new heating) and is therefore in great condition. We have a small garden behind the house, which we can design as we like. In front of the house, there is a garden and a terrace, as well as a small balcony on the first floor. Another highlight is our garage + a driveway. So if you have a car, you will never have a problem with finding a parking space again, despite being very close to the centre. We have a large living room with a dining area and a large couch for cosy film evenings, which is available to everyone, as well as a fully equipped kitchen and a dishwasher. We have 1 bathroom and an extra guest toilet. Thanks to the large shared area, nothing stands in the way of a great flatshare.
At almost 20m², the room is the largest single room in the house. As you can see, the room is a basement room, meaning the ceilings are lower than normal (2.1m) and two pipes are running through the room. We know that this is certainly not for everyone, but with a few simple steps you can make yourself quite comfortable down there (e.g. fairy lights, a few plants or whatever you like). What is great about the room is that you have your direct entrance to the garden - a lot of daylight comes through this glass door, which is why it is very bright despite the basement. Next to your room, there's also a sink and a shower.
The house is very centrally located in Erlangen.
You are within 5 minutes in the city centre and in 10 minutes by bike you can reach Techfak and Natfak. Also, Kaufland is 5 min walking down the raod. The Buckenhofer forest with wild boar enclosure, the Schwabach, and the parade ground are just a few minutes walk away.
Furthermore, the vocational school can be reached on foot in 5 minutes, as well as the university clinics and some Siemens
locations are just around the corner. The connection to the public transport network can be reached on foot in 2 minutes.
Despite its central location, Artilleriestraße is not a busy street, which is why it is very quiet, especially in the evenings and on weekends.
I'm 28 years old and moved to Erlangen last year to start my PhD at the Max Planck Institute for the Science of light. Before I arrived here, I was living in Scotland and in past, I've lived in Spain, France and in India. Therefore I like interacting with people of different cultures and places and literally talk about anything. As I'm doing a PhD, I'm not looking for a party flat but over the weekends I'm definitely up for a ride. I love watching TV and doing some outdoor activities, especially on weekends. It is a plus if you like Indian food as you'll be seeing me cooking curries frequently. But I'm also up for any cuisine. By now, you've already noticed that I don't know German and hence I wrote this description in English but I've started learning German and just finished my A1.1. So if you are a German native speaker, I'd love to practise german with you and you can practise your English if needed. Also, if you are not a native german speaker you are welcomed! Ideally, it would be great to have a diverse WG. It is important to know that my other 2 flatmates will move out soon as well and hence we have to look for 2 new persons soon. I am not looking for a purpose-built flatshare.
About you:
In principle, I have no precise ideas about you. But you should definitely be interested in living in a flatshare. I do not care about your job, gender, nationality or the likes.
If you have any questions, please ask. It would be great if you can send me an introductory email about you. I look forward to seeing you.
There's also a possibility to move in earlier. Just write to me and we can discuss.
You can also reach out to me via whatsapp.
Cheers,
Anchit
