Hello! We are Jakob (25) and Katharina (24), both Psychology (Master) students. As Katharina will be spending the next semester abroad on Erasmus, we are renting out a room for approximately one semester (from July/August until January/February) and you'll be living with me (Jakob).
The room is very bright, has a private balcony (7.5sqm) with a nice view and comes furnished with a futon bed, a desk and a chair. Directly next to the room is a walk-in wardrobe which can be used as well. The apartment is equipped with everything one might need (vacuum cleaner, washing machine, dishwasher, rice cooker, kettle, kitchen supplies, bathtub etc.) and has a large, bright and cozy living room (28sqm) with another shared balcony (10.5sqm) attached, serving as an "extended living room" in summer. This balcony is situated above a calm courtyard and has sun shades - so even hot summer days can be spent there.
The apartment is located in a very nice location at the innermost part of the 17th district (close to the 8th, 9th and 16th district). The station Alserstraße (metro U6/tramway 43 & 44) is 2 min away. Many university buildings are within walking distance from the apartment (University of Vienna main building, Altes AKH-Campus, NIG, Med-Uni Vienna) and the tram line 43 brings you to the first district within 10, and to the the green city outskirts within 20 minutes.
Also, Brunnenmarkt, Supermarkets (Hofer, Interspar, Denns), DM, BIPA, bakeries, as well as many nice cafés and bars are close by (e.g. at Yppenplatz).
I (Jakob) would say I'm pretty easy going as a flatmate. Originally, I'm from Berlin, but I have lived in quite a few countries in all sorts of living arrangements, with very different people and always ended up getting along well and enjoying my time with them. I have worked as a research assistant and social counsellor for quite a few years, love to cook (especially for others), have a beer or a wine and a good chat or discussion with friends. Besides that, I'd say I'm quite open minded about the world, interested in politics and social issues and love to hear different people's stories and perspectives on life. Thus, everyone who is respectful towards others, kind and curious about the world is welcome!
The room is free from July/August and is available until January/February. The price includes everything (rent, utilities, warm water, electricity, internet, insurance etc.).
If you’re interested, please send us some information about yourself (in German or English, whatever you prefer).
We're excited to hear from you!
Katharina & Jakob
