Large, rectangular room with high ceiling, facing the street. The flat is on the third floor, and unfortunately we have no access to the lift, but it may be used exceptionally by asking the neighbours. At least the stairs are very wide and not steep at all. Partly furnished: not all the furniture you see in the photos will be left, but there will be a bed with mattress, desk, and quite a few shelves and cupboards.
The location is excellent because it's so close to the city centre. It's a 20 minute walk to Stefansdom, the heart of the city; a 10 minute walk to Wien Mitte, where you have metro lines U3 and U4, and S-bahn S1, S2, S3, S4 and S7, as well as a huge shopping mall with dozens of shops and restaurants including a big interspar.
The street itself is very quiet as there are few cars passing by, but you have the stations Wien Mitte at one end and Wien Rennweg at the other end, which easily connect you to the rest of the city.
Luckily there is a WienMobil bike station right in front of our building, which is super practical because you can rent a bike for only 0,60€ with the nextbike app and go anywhere you want in the city.
This is a three-person flatshare, and since one room is clearing up, Elisabeth (24) and I, Emile (21) are looking for someone to take it.
I'm from France but I'm also half New Zealander and I'm currently in my first year of my master's in data science at TU Wien.
Elisabeth is from Süd-Tirol and is doing a four-year bachelor to become a French and English teacher, she's currently in her third year.
I speak French and English, and decent Italian. Elisabeth speaks German and Italian, and some decent French and English. We usually speak French together but switching to Italian or English is also fine.
Benjamin (34), the landlord, speaks German and English, so you do have to understand one of these to communicate with him.
We're looking for someone who is keen to get to know us and to do things together, to add to a social and friendly flatshare atmosphere. We usually spend time together cooking in the kitchen, lunch or dinner, and making communal meals is definitely a possibility. In a typical week the flat is quiet after 22 in the evening, but it's more lively during the day.
Keeping the common areas clean (kitchen, bathroom...) is important for us, and we rotate the cleaning each week.
Please send us a little introduction of yourself here on the website, including which language(s) you speak, what you like to do, what you'll be doing in Vienna, random things you like, what you expect from a flatshare and if you've been in one before. This can be in English, French or Italian. Also don't hesitate to ask questions before or after sending this, if you have any, or if you want more photos.
Also leave your contact for Whatsapp, iMessage or Signal so I can message you. If you're in Vienna we'll plan a flat viewing, if you can't come to Vienna we'll plan a zoom call so I can show you the flat.
We are looking for someone to stay at least one year, preferably longer. You will get a renewable contract for one year, which will get renewed after the first year if everything goes normally. You can decide to move out before the year is over, but you must give at least 2 months notice.
