Hi everyone!
Currently living in the apartment are Katja, Mathilde, Pius, and Thomas. Katja will be moving out in July, so we’re looking for a new roommate to join us :)
We all work full-time - Mathilde as a furniture buyer, Pius as a software developer, and Thomas as an AI researcher. We're quite active and often out and about, so it can be hard to find time to all be at home together. Still, we like to occasionally spend time as a flat - whether it’s cooking a nice meal (what’s your favorite dish to make?), having a few beers and chatting, heading to the mountains, cycling, or watching a movie. We're looking for someone who fits in and wants to be part of our WG life!
We mainly speak English in the flat and would like to keep it as our shared language.
The new tenant will join by subletting the room, as that’s the easiest arrangement and how it’s been handled for this room in the past. Mathilde, Pius, and Thomas are all main tenants. That’s just the legal part - when it comes to daily life, we expect everyone to be a full member of the flat, with the same responsibilities and benefits :)
The Room:
The 15m² room in our lovely 4-person WG will be available from July 6th. It has a large window facing north. The flat itself is about 148 m² and is very well equipped. In addition to the four bedrooms, we have a spacious, fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living room.
Location
Our flat is in a fantastic location in Schwabing. The U-Bahn stations Münchner Freiheit and Dietlindenstraße are very close by, and the English Garden is just a few minutes' walk away. In the immediate vicinity, you’ll find everything you need for your daily needs: supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, doctors, pharmacies, and more.
So a little bit about us personally…
Mathilde:
Living abroad for 7 years now, WG life is for me a synonym of feeling home, no matter where you are. In that sense, sharing a meal, a glass of wine (French roots don’t lie), going on a hike or meeting new people together are part of what makes me happy in community. I strongly believe in understanding each other’s pace though and value open communication as key for a successful WG. I am 31, working in a decoration company - I’m always keen on redesigning our flat and trying to make it comfy for everybody - whether it’s a new rug or some cute pillows for our sofa.
I try to follow Katja on the Yoga sessions.. but very often end up going to the swimming pool or the gym for a Spinning class :)

I’ve lived abroad for a couple of years (in Berlin, Stockholm, and Paris), but I'm originally from the Bavarian countryside. I’ve always enjoyed living in shared apartments. I love chatting in the kitchen and the spontaneous things that happen just by living together. I’m really into sports. My main passion is ultimate frisbee, but you’ll also find me at the gym, road biking, swimming, ski touring, surfing the Eisbach, hiking, and more. I work as a software developer and prefer going into the office. In the evenings, I’m often out doing sports or training. I also travel quite a bit for tournaments, but when I’m around and you’re doing something fun, I’m usually up for joining!
Thomas
Originally from Brazil, I came to Munich for my university studies. After a bit of hopping around Europe, I moved back here for work and have been living in the city ever since.
During the week I’m usually at the office, as I’m really good at procrastinating when working from home. After work, you can find me inside one of Munich’s many climbing gyms, in the swimming pool, or chilling with friends by the Isar.
For me, WG-life should be social, harmonious and respectful. Each one should have their own space, but I also think it’s important to spend some time together. So, whether it is a small weekday dinner, movie night, concert, bike tour, or ski weekend, count me in!
