Wunderbare Lage am Fuß der Pillnitzer Weinberge, direkt oberhalb des Schloßparks.
Sehr gute Bus-Anbindung (Nr. 63) ins Stadtzentrum.
Die Fakultät Landbau/Umwelt/Chemie der Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Dresden ist nur drei Minuten zu Fuß entfernt.
In Pillnitz gibt es u.a. Supermarkt, Bäckerei, Fleischerei, einen Hofladen mit regionalen Produkten, einen Getränkehandel, Weinhandlungen und Straußenwirtschaften der ansässigen Winzer, Friseur, Apotheke, Ärzte, Sparkasse und mehrere Restaurants und Cafés. Weiterhin gibt es einen Fahrradhandel, wo man sich auch Fahrräder ausleihen kann.
Aktuell sind hier Umwelt-Monitoring, Gartenbau und Agrarwissenschaft vertreten.
